Never had issues with any of them on random restarts.
The blacks are very good, VERY good, no it will never match OLED but you are also paying sub $2k.
IMO Sony is superior to Samsung and LG.
The 85" is massive in our media room and the picture quality is superb. Using with a home theater PC and RTX 3080, full 4k120hz Plus VRR looks incredible for gaming.
I've owned a ton of TVs over the years (thanks to Slickdeals addiction and bad financial management), and this one is the one that I get the most jaw dropping compliments on from friends and guests at our house.

Local dimming isn't good. Lots of blooming in dark scenes.
Reflections and glare were an issue in my moderately bright room.
Judder still apparent after latest firmware.
Had a few Wi-Fi drop outs after update.
Wired Ethernet is slow old tech.
Random crashes after update
No xr processing although the x1 is quite good
No 4k 120hz if that matters to you
No LD with vrr as advertised.
I paid 1500 with Costco after a cash card glitch. I still returned it at that price.
The remote size and number of buttons are extremely unnecessary
Good luck with your panel uniformity. Rtings rated their panel high while I feel mine was more of a 7
With that said, I'm getting an x90k soon
We ended up talking ourselves into the 83" LG C2 OLED for $3900at ABC Warehouse (great deal, C2 for the price of a C1). The picture quality difference was easily noticeable by my wife, and was within our budget. We have a dedicated home theater with full lighting control, so the OLED made sense for us. It's replacing an Optoma UHD60 on a 92" screen where the 4k input stopped working (again).

If you want quality Samsung/Sony 85" OLED to drop below $2k, it's going to take a while. Maybe 6-12m or more. I'd say go for it if you've been searching for 85" TV for some time. You are going to be happy with this TV. Gaming, movies, sports, sounds...etc, basically above average in all categories.
If you're picky about dark area needs to be extremely black, need a wide viewing angle, or dislike plastic legs (note the depth of the leg, you'll need a deep TV stand if you're not mounting it to the wall), then this TV may not be the best you.
If so, still seems like a decent deal for the size but something to look into as Sony processing evolved substantially last couple years, and it can make a huge difference in ultimate real-world viewing experience. And, seems sites like RTINGS don't properly test processing, they leave most features off for their panel testing. Only a small subset of today's content is 4k HDR so it's really important for watching lower quality sources.
