Sounds like to good time to catch Thor: Love and Thunder, and She-Hulk (if I wait 'til the 14th to sign-up, since She-Hulk's last episode is scheduled for 10/13!)

It's only a deal if someone watches it... the kids have not bothered with Disney for nearly a year, pass.

If you plan on having it for a year it is still cheaper to prepay for the year at the regular $79.99 price.

For sci-fi/Star Trek fans, all 3 seasons of "The Orville" were added recently. I had been watching them on Hulu with my $1/month Black Friday ad-supported subscription, so this was a welcome addition to the D+ library for me.

Due to inappropriate non rated content issues at Disney+, I joined Walmart +.

The free Paramount+ was outstanding with a much larger selection of programs.

Also there is speculation of Disney doing a free service with ads.

Disney was outstanding when they stuck to the mission!

Walt was a good and great man.

Thanks for the heads up!! And ignore the brainwashed groupthink down-voters who obviously have issues with people having different opinions.

Just watched Secret Headquarters with Owen Wilson last night. That was a superb family friendly action movie.

So tired of superhero content. Especially cringe content like She Hulk twerking...Can't believe women wrote that in.

Yeah. I had 2 weeks left on the founders deal. But then my wife wanted to see U.S. Open, and so I upgraded to the monthly Disney bundle. Even relinquished the $1 per month deal we had for Hulu.

And then after signing up, we realized that most of the important U.S. Open matches were not on ESPN+. Only the less popular round one and round two matches, doubles matches etc. For example, the Serena Williams matches were not there on ESPN+. But other Round 2 matches were available. For the Serena matches you needed login via regular cable service, or a live TV service like YouTube TV.

We were so disappointed. What is the point of subscribing to a paid service, if there are further pay walls. I can understand pay-per-view content like special boxing matches etc. won't be included in a regular subscription. But what is the point of blocking a round two women's tennis match just because they knew that it will be a popular match due to Serena's upcoming retirement.

We are happy paying $10 per month just for ESPN, but that's not enough. We are supposed to pay $50 to $70 per month for a regular cable subscription otherwise we cannot see random matches which ESPN thinks has higher value.

It's such a stupid anti- consumer move.
My friend, you miss the whole point of advertising and ratings then. I would imagine the commercials broadcast through non-streaming services is the bread and butter of their revenue. Does that continue to be the prevalent model, yet to be determined. Funny how cable TV started as a commercial-less venture and due to consumers adaptability and lack of rejection they were able to re-incorperate commercials into the paid TV model.

But it's not like espn+ does not have commercials. They have tons of commercials as well. They can literally have the same commercials on espn+.

Obviously they earn more from cable revenue and that's why they are doing this. I'm aware of that. Just that the difference can't be that much to warrant such an anti-consumer experience.

The way I see it - there should not be any difference in content between folks that access espn app by linking to their cable tv service, and folks that pay directly to espn via espn+. Or they should have two tiers of espn+. One shouldn't have to pay for full cable tv access to watch a match if we are willing to pay directly for just espn++ (for example).
