Sounds like to good time to catch Thor: Love and Thunder, and She-Hulk (if I wait 'til the 14th to sign-up, since She-Hulk's last episode is scheduled for 10/13!)

But it's not like espn+ does not have commercials. They have tons of commercials as well. They can literally have the same commercials on espn+.

Obviously they earn more from cable revenue and that's why they are doing this. I'm aware of that. Just that the difference can't be that much to warrant such an anti-consumer experience.

The way I see it - there should not be any difference in content between folks that access espn app by linking to their cable tv service, and folks that pay directly to espn via espn+. Or they should have two tiers of espn+. One shouldn't have to pay for full cable tv access to watch a match if we are willing to pay directly for just espn++ (for example).
Again, you miss the premise of exclusivity. They can't sell the commercials at a premium price if they offer to everyone. I get your point but that isn't how the market model is set up. The advertisers just hedge and try to get as many unique eyes on their commercials. If they've invested millions on a TV spot what is an additional couple of thousand for steaming adds. Pennies on the dollar. Im confident they've done their modeling on this and the dollar acquisition rate must be similar to keep promoting the way they do.

$2 to see the new Thor, Dr Strange, and Lightyear movies. Not bad.

I prefer to rent blu rays from Redbox for subwoofer heavy films above, but I'll bite for $2

Edit: Did anybody else get ""there was an error processing your payment" while paying. I wanted to switch cc but had to pick Paypal instead due one cc rejected by Disney.
I had this issue when I tried to use a pre-paid Mastercard/Visa with less than $10 balance (to defeat auto-renew issues). It's my guess they wanted to authorize more than $10 on a $6 subscription deal last year.

However, I won't be paying for Disney+ again.

If they can't figure out there's an XX and an XY, then I'll kindly vote with my wallet.

Just realized I haven't watched anything on Hulu for several months. Going to cancel it and just get this. Paying double to include Hulu when nobody even watches. Will resubscribe on the next season of Handmaids tale.

My 3 year, $170 Subs up in November. Fingers crossed they repeat that deal again.
I have the same deal, but I'm letting it expire. Not worth it anymore. My kids outgrew the classics and the newer stuff is very hot or miss.

Handmaid's tale returns next week. September 14th is the first 2 episodes. Also watch for Black Friday on Hulu it's usually 1.99 a month for a year(happened for like the last 3 years).

Yea, I know one or two of those years it was 99 cents. That's the reason why I have 3 accounts lol. If they're going to do the whole weekly epsiode releases, I'll wait till the season is finished to resubscribe. I prefer to binge an entire season within a week, rather than watch it throughout 2 months.

I can personally attest to it NEVER being a good time to catch Thor: Love and Thunder. Super campy and not even in a good B-movie way. It was definitely a weird look for that franchise and a super disappointing movie from Taika Waititi. Felt like a 'made for TV' movie effort in so many ways.

Should see many deals throughout the end of the year because Disney is struggling to keep subscribers. They had to cheat last earnings numbers by counting bundle (d+ and Hulu) subscribers twice, like they were separate people subscribing to each.

Every marvel movie, every star wars movie and series, tons of stuff for kids too. You don't like anything on there you are in the very vast minority but you do you.
