Maybe you could rig up a Murphy bed storage system that would satisfy her. A book shelf with a way to fold out the table when in use and when folded up with some painting or picture mounted on the bottom of the table?
How about making a table top that fits over it ? You could use it as a work desk..
Atgames pinball the regular size one. Its legit. Just remember its made to be modified out the box your not going to have a better experience than buying a 1up table. But the mods for the alp is pretty amazing when you see what people done. I mainly use mine with the nintendo switch to run pinball games and picked up the controller panel for it to play coinops which is prettu optimized to use with it. If your looking for a project the alp is good. If you just want to play 1up is the choice (obviously you can mod these as well but requires more effort). Alp people had issues with the noisy haptics but its a simple fix. But i guess overall when i chose the alp as my pinball machine i was like yooo they have a otg connection. Stick a computer omg via hdmi and do whatever you want. They also have the bitpixel and all that you can add that works with coin op as well as mods online to throw in a bigger screen etc.
From everything I've read and seen, the AtGames is the way to go. Bigger screen, pretty much superior across the board. Unfortunately it seems you can only get the AtGames direct from website or from Sam's Club. If I could find an AtGames for $500 + $100 store credit, I'd jump on it in a heartbeat.
Not only that but the maintenance alone (they require quite a lot) adds considerable to upkeep price.
