Hi and thanks for questioning ~ first and foremost, I prefer dark roasts but anyone who might have ever had a k-cup who says "that tasted weak or watery" may have not understood the Keurig/K-cup process.

The pod size design is fixed, right? And then you have multiple ounce setting options (typically 6-12 oz) on the machines…and then you have your ideal cup size that you prefer. You can't expect the same pod to satisfy a 6 oz or a 20 oz travel mug with the fixed amount of coffee grounds, right? The most amount of coffee per pod is your goal to get to your math equation…ie. your pod/coffee strength. If you never question coffee strength, this is probably not your fight. But if you like stronger coffee, or using one pod per bigger size per cup (10-12 oz), this is what you're looking for.

Let's look at this deal specifically. Click on the Amazon post and the pictures on the left, click on the second pic, showing the old and new box packaging. Zoom in and look at the bottom right of regular boxes of k-cups, you're looking for the contents (size/weight) per pod, most boxes will display a size per pod, or a total weight of the boxes contents. If individual, it is typically shown as (11.4g) or (9g)…or you may see , as is this case, 300 grams on the old packaging, yet 275 on the new.

Just like how you divide the total qty of pod from the price to know the per pod price, you divide the 300 grams, divided by 22 to know that you get 13.63 grams per pod, while the new 275, equals 12.5 grams per pod.

You may only care about per pod price, looking for SD deals, but you also learn to avoid 20-25 cents per pod if you only get 9g of coffee per pod. If you like strong/bold coffee, you may need to use 2 pods at6-8 oz for the strength that you like.

The Peet's and Starbucks typically give you more grounds per pod but you need to look for deals for it all to equalize if that makes sense.

P.S. a new trend of Amazon is marketing covering the pod contents with a nicely placed pod blocking the grams per pod, totally annoying.

Good luck!
Unfortunately, shrinkflation is affecting k-cups too. Peet's has gone from 13 grams plus, down to 12.5 in latest packaging "update". Still more coffee per pod than most but raising prices and shrinking product stinks.

A good deal in today's terms though, thanks for post, OP!

My Costco is $39 for 72. At the rate my family drinks coffee, these will be gone within a month

That's interesting as most people would never notice. Where do you find out that information?

Thanks for that info. Like you, I dislike weak coffee and always buy pods with more weight per pod, and haven't notice any changes (because it didn't occur to me to check).

Also like you, I find it very annoying when the photos have a pod covering the weight information on the box.
