Astral Radiance is not a popular set but the pull rates are pretty good for the rare cards. The Elite Trainer Box is part of this sale at $30 and gives you 8 packs plus a bunch of other goodies. A booster pack is typically $4 each so 8 packs in the elite trainer box alone is a good deal if you don't particularly want a specific set.

The packs in the ETBs are all Astral Radiance set cards. Some of the other items on sale here gives you a mix of packs from different sets.
Costco one is 12 packs plus misc for under $40. Isn't that a better deal unless the pull rates are better for elite trainer box?

I guess voice dictation mangled the sentence pretty badly... "Best hp and art"

That brings up another topic. I see cheaper prices on AliExpress. I assume those are definitely fakes?... Including the booster boxes for 15 or $20? Are these fakes pretty much indistinguishable from the real thing and requires a professional to make an assessment? Or any kid can take a 10-second glance and tell you to stay away? I'm wondering if this route is the way to go for the little one that just likes the pictures.

THe art quality and 'best' is pretty subjective and kids will like what they like. but generally speaking the better cards have neater effects like holograms and fancier images so rare cards are generally better looking too.

Yes almost anything on Alliexpress is gonna be a fake I'd assume.

Maybe you could try fakes for a very young kid (preschool) just to givem shiny pictures to look at, but I wouldn't risk much there. Once they get into school other kids will probably consider fakes to be a capital offense and ruin their life forever.. Smilie Kids trade cards so having fake in the mix would be a big no-no.

You could also just buy a mixed lot of common cards off ebay if its just for a young one. But of course ebay has scammers too but if its a high rating sell in US then risk is lower if you're buying like 50 cards for $1 or something.

If you just want to get a lot and don't care about rarity, search ebay or Facebook marketplace for "bulk" pokemon. People sell their common cards for 5-10cents each, so you can get hundreds for the price of one of these Costco/best buy sets.

The excitement comes from opening the packs. Soon enough you'll have bulk anyways.

I have to agree with this based on my observations. The kids just enjoy opening the packs and will trade away cards just to get new packs. So I've went just for price per pack. Although I do encourage them to build a play deck to promote that side of the game. For that, the elite trainer boxes or toolkits are a good start.

Maybe if I buy my kids collector chests, I will stop finding Pokémon cards all over my house and car? They will have a "cool" Pokemon storage box...

For those of us who don't know anything about Pokemon Are these better than the Costco deals? Which ones are the best ones to get amongst the best buy choices?
Price per pack this is better, BUT and this is a huge but. The Costco ones have a choice of evolving skies ETB's. While these ones tend to have a mixed bag that will include less popular sets.

So if your just a card collector for fun. Go with these. If its about collecting valuable cards go with Costco but make sure to get the evolving skies one(chilling reign is less good) .

While getting moon umbreon alt art is next to impossible there are 7 other cards that are $80 + where as most sets only have one or two.

For these boxes you can get
Fusion Strike (2 $80+ cards both very hard to pull)
Brilliant Stars (2 but has a lot of Charizard's and kids love Charizard's)
Astral Radiance (1 but a lot of small "hits")
Battle Styles (none over 80 and mostly not a expensive set though I do like the art. )

Collector Bundle (Price $19.99)(Packs 7)(Per/Pack $2.86) is the best deal by price per pack and the actual packs it has.

Let me break this down for all the people who aren't knowledgeable with the Pokemon TCG scene. If you're trying to determine which sets (or packs) are best....

Based on average value of each set's top 10 cards (Lost Origin excluded due to the set being very new):
  1. Evolving Skies (Avg: $140, Median: $101, Top card: $428)
  2. Chilling Reign (Avg: $53, Median: $43, Top card: $102)
  3. Fusion Strike (Avg: $51, Median: $33, Top card: $130)
  4. Brilliant Stars (Avg: $49, Median: $30, Top card: $172)
  5. Astral Radiance (Avg: $43, Median: $34, Top card: $108)
  6. Pokemon GO (Avg: $26, Median: $22, Top card: $49)
  7. Battle Styles (Avg: $25, Median: $16, Top card: $71)
  8. Vivid Voltage (Avg: $24, Median: $10, Top card: $147)
  9. Darkness Ablaze (Avg: $10, Median: $9, Top card: $38)

Based on newest to oldest sets:
  1. Lost Origins (Released: 9/9/2022)
  2. Pokemon GO (Released: 7/1/2022)
  3. Astral Radiance (Released: 5/27/2022)
  4. Brilliant Stars (Released: 2/25/2022)
  5. Fusion Strike (Released: 11/12/2021)
  6. Evolving Skies (Released: 8/27/2021)
  7. Chilling Reign (Released: 6/18/2021)
  8. Battle Styles (Released: 3/19/2021)
  9. Vivid Voltage (Released: 11/13/2020)
  10. Darkness Ablaze (Released: 8/14/2020)

Based on fun factor of opening packs (*SUBJECTIVE):
  1. Lost Origins (being the newest set)
  2. Brilliant Stars/Astral Radiance (introduced a new subset called Trainer Galleries and Radiant cards)
  3. Pokemon GO (ties in with the mobile game Pokemon GO)
  4. Evolving Skies/Chilling Reign/Fusion Strike (for the potential hits on valuable cards - but pull rates are not ideal)
  5. Battles Styles/Vivid Voltage/Darkness Ablaze

I did not include special sets in Celebrations and Champions Path due to them not being readily available anymore.

If you really only care about price per packs, can usually get some great booster box prices. Around $90 or so for a box of 36 packs... So $2.50 or less. And even better have been black Friday deals which end up around or under $2/pack.

Though for those who don't know, not all packs are valued the same.

If you're trying to gamble then go spend money at Costco, there's a $400 card possibly. But still its a huge gamble. Or get $3/pack here and still have a chance for rare cards and more packs to open.
I pulled a ombrion alt art from the Costco bundle. Supper happy about that
