A universal adapter would be best to get, because I think most standard adapters sold in the US will have a US plug on the input side and you need a UK input.
I bought one from best buy for a few bucks a while ago and use it when I travel but it has all the various plugs set up on the input side.
I'm just wondering if there would be any issues with the warranty because I don't know anything about Nintendo's warranty policies.
