If you're referring to 3rd party and not OEM, don't waste your time or money.

Lots of testing has shown these knockoffs use inferior 18650 cells that don't provide anywhere near the rated capacity so you are carrying extra weight for no reason, except they also provide less power output and slower charging.

I would recommend anyone that needs high capacity batteries to wait for the fairly common sale on the newest PBP007 2 pack. These are 6ah in the same size as the 4ah and using the newest Sony cells. Normal price $279 for the 2 pack, but go on sale for 139 and reportedly as low as 119.

Guessing you mean the "compatible" kind, not actual Ryobi 9ah?

Do yourself a favor and get the 9.0 Ah batteries off of eBay. They are a huge improvement.

Depends on what tools you have, most of the newer tools that are labeled HP don't even have the extra contacts of the HP batteries. The HP are usually a bit better quality cells too, but not likely different enough to make a big difference except for the few tools that take advantage of the HP contacts. More importantly I would say is using larger batteries when using a high draw tool, more cells means more power can be provided so the tools won't bog down as easily.

I imagine the stalk is the main deterrent, even with an adapter the Ridgid and Milwaukee use flat top batteries so the stalk can't be hidden inside the tools and they would hang off awkwardly.

I think these 4.0(2pack w/charger) sets have been cheaper on a hack. Can anyone confirm?

The two pack of 2.0 ones were $65 when returned as part of a tool + batteries deal two weeks ago. This seems like a great price for two 4.0s to me...but I've got plenty already.

Why do you think the batteries are on sale now? Everyone returned the batteries and kept the tools 😆
