I called wellbot to find out if they are the seller. The seller is joyridebikes they are shipped from them.
Watts does not equal MPH, and can not be used for an accurate comparison. There are several different types of hub motors, and the motors can be assembled with different windings.
The controller and battery determine the wattage, not the motor. So calling it a "500 watt motor" is kind of a misnomer. By advertising it as a 500 watt motor, the seller could be saying the motor itself can handle 500W without overheating and burning out. However, most of the time these numbers are made up for marketing purposes. The same motor could be paired with a 10 amp controller and see a max of around 400 Watts or it could have a 15 amp controller and draw around 600 Watts. In my case, I use a 52V battery and 45 amp controller on a motor that was sold as a "1500 watt motor," and it runs 2500 Watts without any issues or need for heatsink/statorade.

Asked when my order would ship. They said by end of day. That did not happen. I asked what happen. They then said they are backed up and should ship.in couple of days. Not feeling good about this company.
Got the Hurley Amped. Assembled yday. For $380 this is a phenomenal bike. Looks great, pretty light for an ebike and has more than enough juice for cruising around town unless you're planning long commutes. Really good deal.
Bought 2 Hurley amped st's on 9/16. Shipping label created 9/22. Finally shipped 9/27. Delivery expected 10/2.
Through email and a chat they told me they had sold many many bikes and were trying to catch up on shipping. They were behind due to the 40% coupon.
If you ordered something just give them a few extra days.
I received my Amp St yesterday and was pretty excited however I can't even assemble the bike to give it a ride. The right dropout of the fork arrived bent out of shape, so can't install the front wheel. Waiting on Wellbots' response to see if I can get a replacement.
The packaging seemed pretty decent as almost everything was well padded up nicely except the bottom of the fork, which seems like an oversight as it pretty much rests up against the bottom of the box without any protection.
Just updating in case anyone is curious to see if Wellbots has faster customer service than JoyRideBikes if you have issues. Essentially Wellbots just said they would reach out to the manufacturer and didn't receive an answer from JoyRideBikes for 5 days and all I was told was to fill out a form on JoyRideBikes site for further service.
Here's to hoping I get a response soon as reading the other JoyRideBikes threads their customer service is almost nonexistence.
Got the juice delivered to me today and it won't turn on. It's also missing a part of the hinge mechanism. 😫
Chances are if you contact Wellbots they'll just have you contact Hurley/JoyRideBikes. I waited 5 days for Wellbots to essentially tell me to fill out this form https://form.jotform.com/222628646620154
Wellbots responds with decent timing, but most of them were just telling me they're waiting for the manufacturer to respond to them. I'm just hoping that if JoyRideBikes doesn't respond that Wellbots will give me a refund without me needing to get the credit card company involved.
Got my Amped ST yesterday. Took an hour or so to get it together and put my rear bike rack on it. I took it on my 4.5 mile commute this morning and it worked great. I did purchase the 3 year warranty for $80 that promises a "fix it in 5 days or replace it" policy.

Hmm, I wonder who fixes it with the warranty? I earlier checked the dealer locator for Hurley warranty from Hurleys website. They listed the local franchise bike shop here. I called them and they said they no longer carry or do warranty work on them.
I couldn't find any other dealer.
But with my issue, no power from motor, I was able to fix myself. The brake cutoff wasn't working properly.

I have a theory that in the event of a warranty issue it's going to be irreparable. Would be cool for the pocketbook to have a couple years of use and burn it out to have warranty refund. Even without that though so far I think this was money well spent on first e bike
I've heard parts are non existent for the battery and charger.
Regarding warranty. I just wonder how it is going to be handled, with either the original or the extended. The mfg warranty says to bring it into an authorized dealer. There are none around. What does the extended warranty require?
I think this is a situation where you just fix your own, and most of it should not be difficult. Not sure what benefit purchasing an extended warranty would have, unless it doesn't require authorized repair center to do the estimate and work.

These are likely standard parts, easy to find.
