Same here. Rtings actually did a head to head comparison between this Gigabyte and the C1:

I would consider this if was guaranteed to be $600. Rebates through Newegg have been a crapshoot for me. I've sent in five $15-$20 in the past year. On two of them I got the rebate, one of them responded and claimed I didn't send in the upc code, and on the other two I just never heard anything back.

I moved from a 48" curved Samsung TV to two 32" curved Philips (one 4k, one 1440p) monitors mounted together on one stand. I like the two 32" a LOT more than the single 48" as it is more natural to look left and right rather than up and down. Also, with a 48" monitor, you really want a curved display unless you are sitting really far from the monitor (like 4ft+). I find it hard to go back to a 32" or larger flat display after getting used to curved panels. Just so much easier on the eyes.

I hate to be that guy but with this monitor I feel like the line between tv and monitor is blurred. Would this be a good purchase for a PS5? I would use this to play games and sometimes watch netflix.

I dont need smart apps since I have a firestick. But is there any downside to using this as a tv and sitting 10 feet away ?
Just use the PS5 for netflix.

The HDMI is not full bandwidth, so your PS5 will be limited to 4:2:0 @120hz because the PS5 does not support DSC and also has limited HDMI bandwidth (30gbs instead of 48 needed for full hmdi 2.1). This is "normally" not an issue because the PS5 only puts out 4:4:4 in pc mode.

Can be this mounted on an Amazon's premium monitor arm (which is a rebranded Ergotron LX arm)?
Do you have a link for the monitor arm you're referring to? I searched Amazon for "Amazon premium monitor arm" and all I got back was their basic arms and VIVO.

Last I checked PS5 Netflix and all other streaming apps are locked to 60Hz. You want 23.976 / 24 Hz output or some multiple of that (e.g. 48Hz or 120Hz) for most TV/movies . Firestick will switch to correct refresh rate for content from what I read. However, I heard that the FO48U can't do 24Hz (minimum refresh rate is 48Hz), so unless the Firestick can do 48Hz or 120Hz (maybe it can?), that's going to be a problem, at least if judder is noticeable to you (it is to me).

Additionally, PS5 power consumption is very likely to be higher than typical streaming devices.

Another thing with the FO48U is the 24Gbps HDMI 2.1 inputs and the PS5 doesn't have DSC, so the C1/C2 is a better choice for PS5.

As someone who bought this when it was a $1000 with a $200 rebate bringing it to $800. I did everything right, received confirmation of rebate submission, and Gigabyte said they sent it out but I never got it. When I inquired I was basically told to pound sand and there was nothing they could do. So... do not count on getting the rebate.

200 dollar new egg rebate? I feel like I'd have better odds just putting $200 on red. Newegg has repeatedly shown what kind of company they have become
If it helps you any the $200 rebate is not through NewEgg, it's through Gigabyte.

Edit: Post above this one has feedback on Gigabyte rebate.

From the reviews, it looks like it will take two or three monitors before you get one that isn't damaged in shipping.

Biggest downside would be sitting 10 feet away from a 4k 48" TV.

This FO48U is a native 120hz panel, so no matter the source it will be judder free (assuming you aren't using some wonky 50hz European source). It will likely have stutter though if you are susceptible to that (like judder, some are, some aren't).

Well, I would want to split a monitor this big into 4 screens (I currently use 1 27 inch main 1440p display, 2 stacked 1080P 21 inch displays and my laptop for 4 total).

I often have outlook, teams, and/or Chrome in the same place for long periods of time, maybe all day. I also like putting the same application in the same place to cut down on looking around for things or knowing where then will open when tabbed to.

Even if you don't do any of that, there are lots of windows UI elements that are very similar or identical across applications. I'm an accountant, I don't work like coders on TV with stuff flying around all the time lol

I guess this is it - Amazon Basics Single Monitor Stand, Lift Engine Arm Mount, Black https://a.co/d/hy5Dtz0 It lost "premium" word, apparently, but it looks exactly the same as mine ("premium" one lol).

You're better off buying a bigger OLED screen TV instead (e.g., 55"+) which incorporates most, if not all the features included in this "gaming monitor".

Can I use any two of the inputs to set up the PBP feature? I understand this monitor is not ultrawide. In PBP mode, what's the display ratio for each monitor? Is it possible to get two 16:9 display area out of this thing? Thanks!
