I'm not sure how I survived without this in an apartment with 2 dogs but I'm glad I got it. I had a hoover before this and it just didn't do as well and I would have to do a couple of rounds before getting all the hair off the rugs. The shark basically gets it all in one go.

I'm trying this. I have a shark navigator that I've been very happy with but I want a cordless for when I'm lazy. Hope it's decent.

How do you clean the dust off of the silicone?

I have one of these that I gave to my grad school daughter for her studio apt. It works great. I was amazed at how much dirt it pulled up and it has an actual rolling brush for use on carpet. I was lucky and paid less than this for a non refurb unit that was on clearance, however it's still a good buy on this deal in my opinion. I have a Dyson V6 and I like the Dyson better for hard floors but for carpets this is significantly better. If you have smaller carpeted areas than this is perfect, if you are going to clean a larger carpeted area I would recommend an upright or canister.

That brand is some cheap generic cordless vacuum. The shark is designed to actually pick up dirt with power and has some replaceable parts. Battery vacuums should not be going to no name brands.

It's ok. Not quite as good as one with a soft brush roll, but it has a hard floor setting, which essentially just slows the speed of the brush roll so it doesn't scatter everything everywhere. Overall it is good.

If you have carpet and medium to long haired pets I'd suggest a corded vacuum. I like shark vacuums, I use a corded one and it does great on pet hair. Cordless just don't. My LG cordless from Costco for double the price as the corded shark is just mediocre.

Really? This one gets all the pet hair easily for me. It is specifically a pet minded vacuum though. I think the fins do a good job of squeegeeing the fur off the carpet with the rubber fins vs one with a brush roll.
