Oof. The toxicity is bad enough, but to not even look at the video before replying?

For others, I've got an Insta360 One X2. It's great, but it's very different from a GoPro. The stitching is impressive, but imperfect. Great for capturing 360 videos for direct upload or for when you want to select the target and convert to a regular video. However, you'll get lens flare as the camera moves, and some artifacts around the edges of the lenses. So, if you want to shoot a video where you're focused on a single thing, a regular GoPro will give superior results.

The R3 is pretty impressive and does some cool tricks for sure. But the killer feature on the GoPro 11 is across the board 10-bit color recording. With the accessibility of color grading on phones, this will give people a lot more room to get a closer-to-cinematic level of polish to their videos. The only other action cam that also can record in 10-bit color is the Insta360 Titan.

For anyone curious about 8-bit vs 10-bit and what 10-bit can do for your final product, BH Photo Video made a good explanation: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WNy24_XD38o

Have always been a GoPro fan since v1.0. Didn't upgrade every model, though, and last stopped at 8.

Just checked and I do have this Amex offer, and with its forward-facing screen, I may jump on this. Need to first see some reviews about the overheating issue that seems to plague these later models, though.

Thanks, had no idea I needed this. Looks much better than the gopro, and after having terrible connectivity issues with the hero 10 black and returning it, I don't think I'll chance another gopro.
The connectivity issues is even worse. Multiple issues using the insta360 app. Cannot download videos via wired connection..

It's a YouTube hype machine.

I have a Hero 9 and it recently got murdered by a faulty battery door seal and salty ocean water. I have their premium sub and GoPro still wouldn't do anything about it without cost of replacement. So that left a bad taste in my mouth and it's put me off from ordering the 11.

I have been looking at the X3 (rationale being I could use it for real estate virtual tours) and the DJI Action 3. Any reason to give GoPro another chance? I'd like to see how good the stills it produces are. I've never used an action cam for photos because the quality is so poor, but if they upped the sensor game, I would like that flexibility.

Maybe I'll just wait for BF and hope one comes down to $300.
I had a similarity non useful customer experience with gopro and I'm done for now. I'd recommend trying a different brand. Find somewhere you can try out the two you mentioned and see if they meet your use case needs.

Been torn on an Insta 360 camera or the GoPro. Are you happy with your X2? Would you buy it again?
I bought it for recording motorcycle rides. The noise reduction is absolute garbage for my purposes. You can hear the engine just fine until about 20 or 25 mph, at which point it instantly switches to preferring the nonstop roar of wind noise.

They want to sell you an adapter for an external microphone, which apparently doesn't even function for a lot of people. Instead, I jumped on Craigslist and found a somewhat high-end Zoom H4N Pro audio recorder for $80. It's a bit of a hassle compared to simply using the camera's microphone, but it's vastly higher quality than any built-in microphone could ever be.

Otherwise, it's a pretty great device. Their software is decent. No more or less annoying than GoPro's apps.

Can you please suggest which model is best for first person point of view driving a double digit horsepower? I want to capture lots of details as I'm seeing everything when I drive the car. I want the camera to act like my eyes capturing the moment.

Only sensor upgrade compare to Hero 10. I'll skip this release unless I get much cheaper price. Big Grin Currently I have the 8 and 10.

Just on paper. It's a POS. It overheats 2 minutes after turning it on. I'm returning it. Insta360 sucks.
So you already got yours? Hard to believe considering it only came out a week ago.
