I consider these to be "regular" price even at these prices. Bought the W40 and my Shure earphones blow them out of the water. Would've returned at full MSRP smh. For the same price, you can get Shure earphones with better sound but that's just me
which shure model were you using?
Not an earth shattering deal, but they're a decent place to start if you're really thinking about Westone. There are far better iems out there for the money at this point, sound-wise. The quality however, will be a tough metric to match at this price (they're built like tanks and every included accessory is good enough to use forever, where most chinese iems will require a cable or tip upgrade if not both)

I bought a set of the w40s a while back and a fiio neckband lc2. LOVE THEM! They sound freaking amazing! The Bluetooth band they come with is decent but the fiio does LDAC.

Ah, Westone. Inferior, outdated IEMs from a simpler time when American companies had little in the way of competition.

My daughter (the musician in the family, I'm procurement..) has Mackie MP-240s. How are the W40 compared to those?

Bad company. $250 to $59 looks like a joke.

Been in pro audio for 15 years. They're great for this price point. Haven't ventured into the Chi-Fi market much but I'm reluctant after hearing a horror story of a pair damaging a singers eardrum when they catastrophically failed. Ymmv.

I'm very tempted, but put off by the fact that I'd have to pay for the return shipping if I don't like them.

I've never tried IEMs before. I know they're mainly geared towards musicians, but would it be worth it to go with these for just listening to music? I like good quality audio, but I'm not exactly looking to be running dedicated high-end amps to power them. I also know that Bluetooth won't exactly give you quality audio, but would these have more dynamic sound over things like Galaxy Buds2, Beats Buds, etc?

I has the B50, used with both computer and phone. I have heard noises I've never heard before in songs I've listened to for a decade, on both bluetooth and wired, although wired still wins. With these, it's possible to actually hear the difference between 320kbps and 128kbps. Get a phone with a quad dac, and it's infinitely better than any of the non-audiophile "popular" brands.

As an additional bonus, five drivers means I can lower the volume by more than half to get the same sound.

These models are on sale because they are being discontinued in favor of newer models.

If you're looking to get universal IEMs converted to customs (or used customs re-shelled for your ears), I've used the following two services.

1.
Perfect Seal -- https://perfect-seal.com -- they did a re-re-shell of my Ultimate Ears TripleFi 10s I bought from a SlickDeal back in 2010, as well as a pair of JH Audio JH13v2 I bought on eBay.

Mike and his team are wonderful to work with, but he's really busy at times, so plan accordingly.

2.
ItsFit Labs -- https://itsfitlab.com -- they reshelled a pair of Noble Katanas for me, which turned out really nicely (see attachment). Kien does nice work, and has quick turnarounds once he gets the IEMs.

If you're in the US, the downside is that they're in Vietnam, and you've gotta get stuff through Vietnamese customs to their lab, which can be... tricky (aka, bribe Customs if they've flagged your package).

So, with 3 reshells done, I can say that all of them are great, and if I have a preference for 1 vs another, it's because of the the IEM, not the shells. All are comfortable, all durable enough (so far), and provide a great seal.
