This thing is absolute garbage I orderded this like 1.5 years ago and its absolutely useless, weak motor can't cut through anything good.

After reading the reviews, even at $25, it sounds like a bad idea.

Someone mentioned other slicers on sale, so I looked a bit.
Although double the price, this one gets far better reviews, and seems a reasonable deal:

(Plus, the slicer is more common, so you can see the reviews at Amazon, Target, Home Depot, etc)

So I decided to buy the above Cuisinart one...
If it sucks, I will just return it to BB.

Shipping is free if you order from eBay but not from Best Buy. Been waiting for it to come back to this price. It'll be handy for making cheesesteaks on my griddle.

Got one through bestbuy for store pickup in case I need to return, it will be easier. Hopefully. It works for making hot pot slices of meat

I have an old vintage slicer, use it when I have to cook for LARGE party's. I slice chicken breast thin for Piccata, no pounding required.

Would this work on raw chicken breasts?

I wish there was a way for it to fold up into a small tiny cube 2hen not using, else for $25 it would be a no brainer if it works....but issue is storage

I would freeze the raw chicken breasts for ~2 hours before shaving/slicing

Nice, great deal OP, priced good enough to not care about reviews or if it gets used, can't wait to try it for sandwich meats, cheese, pepperoni, and shaved steak and chicken.

Sounds like most of the bad reviews are because of a plastic gear inside. Wonder how difficult it would be to source a metal replacement. Might make it worth much more than the $25 cost here, with just a small effort.

May not be. This is small. Your leg of prosciutto is probably too big for this slicer unless your cut off pieces from the leg to fit the slicer.

Ya i have bought before and broke one part after less than a year. Couldnt get the replacement part so it became junk. At this price though its worth consideration if you will use if for small jobs.
