Yeah....t-mobile deals not as good as last year.

So, my calculation for two phone 14s this year is:
Phone 1 = $719.99
Phone 2 = $719.99
Taxes $86.40 (6% sales tax)
Total = $1,526.38
Rebate = $630
Total = $896.38

If you assume 3 months of $20 per line plans ($180 total), your total out out pocket for two unlocked iphone 14 is $1076.38 (or $538.19 each).

Good to note that you must pay for the total device cost upfront as financing is only available on their website which does not offer this promotion.

Yeah I'm done with farting around with the silly rebates these days to get the latest and greatest. My current phone and last time I did a rebate promo was in 2018 when I got 2 free iPhone XRs via T-mobile at Costco trading in an iPhone 6. Was able to get rebate upfront on a card and dropped line after activation. I'm guessing they lost a boatload on that and they've never been good since.

Given technology isn't rapidly change YoY, will upgrade in next year or 2 to the 13 or 14.

Can you explain? Most other deals require 24-36 months of being locked into a contract with high monthly costs. This deal allows the phone to be unlocked in 40 days and you can use with lower cost carrier if you choose. Gives you flexibility.

I agree, I would wait until Black Friday.
Guess I'll put up with the cracked screen on my 11 Pro Max awhile longer. Owned all iPhones since the plain 3G and never broke a screen.. and wife hands me her old 11 Pro max (she got the 13 last year) when I got Covid 7 weeks ago had a moment of weakness and didn't put it back in my belt clip properly and she fell on the bathroom floor and smashed. Up to that point I'd been using an iPhone X. Ugh!

yes your total spend then is around 1200+ tax for two iPhone 14 pro max. Sell one and keep one and its pretty good.

But the problem is that not many Costco stores have 14 pro max and deal is only valid for another 10 days.
The promotion last year keeps getting extended till recently though

For new T mobile customers, you can try something like this:
1. Bring your own devices and create an account with T mobile with 2 new lines (You will be eligible for a $300 x 2 = $600 gift card)
2. Try to open this new account with T mobile essential plan. If the kiosk guy gives you hard time, open with Magneta Max. Once you walk out of the Costco store, contact T force on twitter/facebook and inform them you want to downgrade your plan
3. Wait a couple of days, go back to Costco and tell them you want to add one more line. Because you already have 2 paid lines this new 3rd line will be free. Buy Your 2 new iPhones.
3. You will receive a $600 gift card in about 14 weeks and a $630 rebase card in about 5 weeks.

Total Out of Pocket :
3 lines cost around 4 months on the essential plan - $360 + Tax
2 Iphones(14) cost - $1440 + 6% = $1526

Total Rebate = $600 + $630 = $1230
Total Spend = $360 + Tax + $1526 = $1886 + Tax

Net Cost for 2 Iphones = $1886 - $1230 = $656 + Tax
Question:
Is this a better plan (cost per new phone) than BYOD x 2 then BOGO x 2 and ending with 4 numbers with Tmobile?
question 2, why open new tmobile with BYOD x 2 and do BOGO to add a new line needs to be on different day? can we do it in one trip?

Because many of us have Tmobile grandfather plans (like myself, if I add a line, it only cost me $10/month) and can cancel the new lines in 6-8 weeks after receiving the rebate. Unlike other deals, where you have to trade in another device and have the credit spread out 24mo and also keep the line the credit is on.

Well for one you have to add a new line, then you have to get two phones and only one is 1/2 off. Sounds horrible.

question 2, I remember costco doesn't charge sale tax at least a few years ago, so it charges tax now?
If you have 4 lines that you want to bring on T mobile then I would do BYOD for the first two lines and then BOGO for the remaining 2 lines. You will end up with $600 Costco Cash (2 Lines for BYOD) and then 2 BOGO for each line. ($630 + $630 rebate) = 4 iPhones with 4 T mobile lines.
Sales tax is based on your state.

Does anyone know if they check your credit score or no? If so, what credit score do they use? I have my credit frozen.
