Buy the *Notify for Amazfit" app. So much better than stock app. Tons of customization. I've had my OG Bip since 2019 and it's still going strong. I never take it off. Shower,swim,work on the car, bang it on all sorts of stuff. Getting about 4-5 weeks battery life still (was 8-9 weeks when new). Pretty sure the T-rex will work with the Notify app (Android here).

It works fine as a digital LCD type watch, like a Casio.

But, it's terribly inaccurate for health tracking. It doesn't compare to the Apple watch or Huawei.

The Quantified Scientist YouTube channel tests watches using rigorous scientific data.

The amazfit brand is consistently at the bottom.

They look great and have great battery life. I have an amazfit gts but I only use it as a basic digital watch. The healthy tracking monitor is garbage. You can't even view your heart rate on the zepp app while exercising.

I have been using this for more than a year, Its a basic watch with minimal functionalities and some workout modes. But its military bulls quality is ultimate, you can use it anywhere.

I switched to this watch from a Samsung Gear Fit. It does have awesome battery life, even with HR monitoring always on (about 13-14 days). The flashlight feature is pretty nice. I like the bigger display and the build quality is way better (the band on my Gear Fit began to essentially disintegrate after almost exactly one year of use).

But as funkmastera noted, the Zepp app is trash. The sleep monitoring is pretty worthless. It does not even detect when I wake up and walk to the bathroom as being "awake", which means it's definitely not tracking other awake movements while in bed. Sleep, HR Monitoring and exercise tracking was way better on the Gear Fit. Not to mention, the onboard software needs to be "reset to factory default" from essentially the jump to avoid a perpetual bootloop issue.

Overall, it's a fine watch in terms of telling time, call controls and viewing messages for $70, but don't expect anything spectacular.

Just downloaded this app after seeing your post and, holy crap. This thing does EVERYTHING. I also have a Bip, and now I feel like you've opened up a new world that the Zepp app just wasn't doing. Thank you for this!

You seem well informed. Can you recommend a good fitness/smart watch, budget within $300 ideally but can go until $500? I use an android.
