Guaranteed you'll whine "how come no one delivers in my area!!!!" in the next breath.
Thanks OP for the deal, in for two!
absolutely not. I have done no tip for 2 years over 200 orders.
I have noticed 0 difference in speed and even some restaurants as far as 8-10 miles away are picked up within minutes. I think it is because doordash is oversaturated and depending on where the restaurant is located, many dashers will reject but ultimately there are a lot of dashers around.
The reason I can tell is my roommate tips well.
my logic is the driver saw the price they were being paid and agreed to pick it up. Doordash will increase the amount of pay if no one is picking it up
keep in mind doordash/ubereats/grubhub is way more attractive of a job than regular uber because you don't have to interact with people and dirty the interior of your car or risk covid by allowing randos in your car.
Instacart I also see no point in tipping because the food is shopped and delivered. It comes the same freshness regardless of when it comes and there's no time crunch for delivery. Plus you can pay $2 for priority which increases the speed at which it comes

I don't have paypal account and I registered for it yesterday evening. Still I couldn't able to purchase this card. Keep getting error. any ideas or suggestions? Error says "We aren't able to process your payment using your PayPal account at this time. Please go back to merchant and try using a different payment method.".
Tried adding a different debit card but still same error

It's not the job of customer to pay salaries of Doordash drivers. If you are a driver and unhappy with the pay, do something else.
if you don't tip, knowing that's all the drivers get, you are a major a-hole.
Sure , you can also go to a restaurant and not tip, but you are still major a-holes
I don't have that issue. Promos are the same whether you have gift cards or not
keep in mind gift cards don't show up as "gift cards" in your account. They show up as credit and there's many ways you can have credit without buying a gift card.
Doordash now refunds a lot of errors or mistakes as credit instead of to your card. I think this was changed because of how I would abuse promos.
Therefore promos are just as much for good customers as they are people who don't order a lot
What you will find is a lot of the good promos on doordash like $5 off coke zero or whatever there are very specific hours that those are active during the day. You can't order those all day anymore.
Going to disagree. I have several accounts between my two phones and my wife's phone. The recent 75% off promo went to both accounts that had no "credit balance". Have received emails for other promos as well for both no credit account. How active you are is also certainly a factor too.
Got 1. Does adding it to door dash mean they would not send as many promotions ( have heard that Uber eats does this) ? Wondering if it's better to wait until you actually have to use it
This has been my experience with our 3 accounts in my household. No point to add before ready to use.

I'm not counting 75% off promos. I'm a regular doordash user I order about 3x a week
my dashpass is tied to my work email too so I do not recieve any doordash emails.
The regular promos like BOGO burrito bowl, $5 off coke zero, etc. those are the same regardless of credits or not

that's different. You go to a restaurant the waiter has no choice but to serve you. The driver made their choice to pick up my food at the price that was quoted
some of the dashers who deliver my food have unusually nice cars. Guessing they must be doordash employees completing their one required monthly delivery.
Somehow sd doesn't make this comment to bubble to the most popular... Dd and gh are gone...
It's ok for pickup since they don't add additional fees at certain places like Taco Bell.
Alas, capitalism will surely ruin that for us too as these companies continue to rob billions from the workers who line their pockets.
Thankfully a lot of these companies made their own app that allows for easy ordering without upcharge for pick-up, just a sheer modern convenience with no strings attached... (think Dunkin, Starbucks, BK, etc.)
When you think about it, for delivery purposes, all these companies (Grubhub/Doordash/UberEats) really do is leech money from both the customer and the driver, because if you called directly, you'd be paying less and the delivery driver would probably be paid more, especially if the delivery driver was related to the businsess owner. Idk, the prices have gotten so ridiculous and I don't feel like blowing $40 on a 2-person meal that won't have leftovers that isn't just pizza or something bread-packed. Rather kick up the ol' air fryer and keep the freezer packed with goodies more often than not. A sandwich on Doordash is like $14 before all all the fees here in a $7.25 minimum wage city, so I dunno.
