To measure current, you basically put the meter in-line on a circuit. For example, we wanted to test how much current our car was drawing from the battery when off (troubleshooting repeated dead battery issue). Remove the positive terminal. Put one lead of the MM on the red cable and the other MM lead on the positive post of the battery. The MM is now inline of the circuit and would measure how many mA were drawn when the car was off.
For $16 I'll buy another for sure.
EDIT: the price shows $17.04 for me. It must have gone up a bit?
