Good point to bring up. I bought one of these combo keyboards a few weeks ago and was annoyed to find out it didn't work w the unifying receiver I already had. Was forced to return since I had no more usb ports. Seems some models work and others don't. Ridiculous that Logitech wouldn't make this popular combo work w their existing and heavily used dongles. Sorry, corrected my post. Appears to come with a receiver that only works with the included KB and mouse. Not sure that would impact most people.

Great inexpensive keyboard. I've had this model or a similar one for years. Used 5 days or more a week for work. Hardly ever needs battery replaced. Does the job. Got one for my son for college - he's not a PC gamer so it works for him as well.

Funny thing is they sell the keyboard separately come with a unifying receiver and the mouse only with a unifying receiver as wel. But in this combo, it's specifically not unifying. Go figure…

Yeah. There are drainage holes in the keyboard.

Yes, I have three identical ~14 yr old Logitech wireless mouse/keyboard receiver systems (not wifi). Two are still in use. ~Two yrs ago, I found, displayed in an open Word document, on an unattended PC, several familiar strings of text and one of my user ID's and it's password embedded therein. I was very suspicious that something very strange had happened or perhaps even that someone with nefarious intent was afoot. A few days later it dawned on me that my keystrokes and their resulting radio signal transmitted from wireless keyboard A had been received by receiver B which was connected to a different PC 40 ft and three rooms away, and displayed on that systems monitor. It was pleasing to have solved that mystery and it was a relief to learn no malintent was involved. I had a good laugh and it still makes me smile because it fooled me so easily.

I have also owned similar models and have the opposite experience, unfortunately. Range is poor and the slightest obstructions cause signal issues. My issues may be because of competing devices (from neighbors, my own devices, etc.) polluting the 2.4ghz spectrum. Then again, for $15, I recommend trying it for yourself. YMMV. Worst case, you can always return it to Target.

Here are my use cases:
  • Living room PC in an entertainment cabinet (where I sit maybe 5-6ft away) : very weak signal (with keystrokes and mouse movements cutting in and out) if I have the receiver plugged into a USB on the back of my PC. If I have it plugged on a front USB port, it does work better but still cuts out. I have a faux-granite coffee table so I wonder if that causes signal deflections. It works best if I use a USB extension cord and have the receiver end sitting on my coffee table with basically straight line of sight.
  • Basement VR computer (where distance is like 5-6ft): I have a weird set up where the PC sits behind a cheap wooden bookshelf. Signal and cutouts are intermittent enough even I run a USB extension cord and tape the receiver to the side of the bookcase with good line of sight.
From a practicality standpoint, these low-end devices are a far, fry cry from the gamer-level "Lightpseed" devices. I own multiple keyboards and mice including the expensive Logitech G915 TKL, G502, G703, G Pro and G Pro X Superlight -- all of which are awesome. Obviously price points are way different but you truly get what you pay for, IMO.
