Just as an FYI this is a 5 year old model. Don't let the big discount from the original price fool you, you can get a 945 for less than that.

Great price for a great watch. It's a Fenix in a plastic chassis instead of metal. Got mine for 400 3 years ago and it's holding up well. There is a 955 out now, so do keep in mind this is a couple generations older.

Did your Fenix 6X break or otherwise fail?

The Fenix 6X should beat this in just about every way except that it's heftier to haul on your wrist for runs vs the Forerunner.

What Sigeptendo said.. This is a couple generations old. I have a two year old 935 and love it. The metal Fenix 6/7 felt too heavy.

The 255 may have a better screen and more sensors/features.

How's this compared to a forerunner 55? Just got that 2 months ago and is my first gps watch. Use it mainly for running

I'm not sure if I would be paying that much for a 935. It's pretty old now. Like others have mentioned I would shop around.

I've had a Forerunner 945 for quite some time now and love it, use it daily for runnign and biking. That said, it was expensive (on sale for $449) and the replacement 955 is $499. I want to say the 945 went on sale around July for $349 on Amazon, so the price here for the 935 is pretty fair at $218.40. If you're interested, I would check the features matrix between the 935/945/955 to make sure you're not missing a feature that's important to you.

And regarding the Forerunner vs. Fenix; the weight difference iirc is about 1/2, and is very noticeable. Features are on par with eachother, but the Fenix is far more rugged.

255 all the way. 255 has multi-band GPS which is better than even some of the base model Fenix 7 models released earlier this year. It will also get firmware updates for years to come to fix bugs and possibly add features.

Personally, I'd be wary of buying a new 935. Who knows how long the battery has sat on a shelf and how that will impact the battery life in the long term. It's also missing some major features even budget watches have now like track running, which gives super accurate distance when doing laps around a track.

they are different watches. the 255 is 2 generations newer than the 935 but the 935 is a triathlon watch with support for biking and swimming including power meter and other accesories. If you are just running go with the 255. Not sure if the 255 supports custom interval training.
