Alright this is ridiculous. I _just_ comparison shopped pistachios the other day (how!!? Why!?!) and found Sam's club to be the cheapest. Wonderful shelled roasted and salted 24oz for $15.98

And son of a bitch they're cheaper now

Plain should be more expensive. The flavored varieties are adulterated with cheap sunflower oil and added sugars. Sugar and sunflower oil costs way less than pistachios pound for pound. Both of these added ingredients are known to cause inflammation.

Generally these sorts of deals are temporary price reductions because they're overstocked on a particular flavor and need to get rid of them. It doesn't necessarily mean that they're old/nearing their expiration date (though sometimes it does), just that they need to get rid of some extra.

It's 2g sugar per serving, and sunflower oil is a good fat. As long as your not eating the bag in a sitting this is a healthy snack.

nowhere does it specify that it's a healthy snack. but it's way healthier than chips or candy bars. and it has a few vitamins and minerals. and when has BBQ flavor ever been sugar free?
