The drivers are pretty good these days
I wouldn't touch that card for upwards of $550.
To the best of my knowledge 100c is fine for a Hotspot. 120 is the danger zone, I've only seen the Hotspot hit 100 a couple times and never when the fans are on like they should be.
It's just an annoyance to go have to muck with the power profile and deal with it. I had the fan on when gaming and was hitting high hot spot temperatures.
if the card were 500 i'd not care but for 700 I didn't want to have to continue to deal with the software configuration in my computer.
If you lower the power limit by 5-10% i had pretty much no hot spots even when gaming. It was an even 65 or so.
i also wish they'd not overclock these cards or have a hard switch to turn> i've been down this road before and when these cards run that hot it really can lead to issues down the line. I just feel for 700 even the tuf or xfx model is better buy they are pretty much the same price.
Dude, windows 11 is having major issues with Nvidia after their latest update. Microsoft's recommendation is to roll back to 21h1 !!!!

I mean you can go look at the transistor density and clock speed alone. It's going to be much faster and have more features.
Let's say this is even 600, if you can get a new 7800 for 800, i don't see this being worth it honestly. 400-500 sure. That is how i bought my 1080 ti, but they just aren't going that here. The used people are insane. Why would i buy a used card when the new ones cost the same or cheaper.
I still think this market is kind of crazy personally. Sure there is inflation, but it's not impacting consoles nearly as much which use a lot of the same parts and honestly a lot of other things. Some of this is just bad design and greed that they are hanging on to from the last two years, or they paid too much because others were taking advantage of crypto, but those problems are gone now etc there are two sides. Also, i hear they are close to cost, but i see new 6900's going for close to 600 occasionally on newegg, and newegg is making money> i 'd love to see a real bill of materials, not a hand-wavey one. Hold the line, i say fix prices and cut the fat. Buy it if you want, but you're getting a card with dated tech, huge, loud, and almost the prices of a new far better card. It doesn't seem like a great deal to me.
Also by the way i 've tried this card, it has hot spots. it's a pain to cool. I don't think these oc cards are all that. It's really big but you game on it and you get 100 c pretty fast in places where others are 60, i have to wonder what kind of stress that puts on things over time. If this were a good cooler design (cold pate) you'd be seeing basically 70's more even.
At least amd tends to support stuff for a longer period of time, though they didn't turn on rebar in their old stuff. I'm even a little nervous about anything new that's beyond FSR at this point. I kind of want to know what they are releasing at least next when i spending this kind of money. If you need something new i think a 300-- 6700xt is a better way to go, than buying this, or a new card in a few months after the loonies calm down when the new stuff is released and take the time to make a calculated decision. This old crap isn't going anywhere. At least with Nvidia there is a year's supply and more and more used coming. eventually something will give. Or if it doesn't i mean you still have 600 to put toward something far better. It's not like you necessairly need the performance but at these figures now they are asking for cards a lot of people want to make a purchase and hang onto it for 5 years. Kind of hard to do that when your two years into that already. I see a ton of reasons not to buy this.
