Motherboard MSI Z690 Pro $160.00
Hard Drive instead of 2x1TB I choose 1x2TB WD_Black Gen 4 SN770 for $180.00
Memory Single DDR5 Corsair Vengeance 16gb for 73 or buy 2 for $146
GPU PNY GeForce RTX 3070 LHR or Reference Board from BB if instock for $500 (note you get a Radeon 6700xt for about $140 less with close to similar performance)
Tower and PSU Roughly $150
Since I believe that the Legion T5 does not have a Z690 chipset Board in and only 16gb Ram, you can do better by building it yourself. However for people who can't put their own together this deal is not so bad but keep in mind that the 3070 will be soon an outdated card and surely not worth 500 bucks, even now...

Good info. My daughter wants to build her own system. Any suggestions on where to start? Tyia
We ended up getting a RTX 3060 Ti Founder's Edition from Best Buy.
If you are in the Bay Area in California, a good store to visit is Central Computers. We actually bought most of the parts there.
Note the ADATA DIMM has Addressable RGB LED which adds to the module height. To clear the DIMM, the Noctua CPU cooler had to be mounted ~1/8" higher than the heatsink fins. No cooling issue... the i7-12700 was ~70C while running benchmarks and ~60C while playing game.

Completely different computer
This has ddr5 memory, better gpu, bigger ssd, and better cooling. The listed psu MIGHT be an error because the similar spec legion desktop on lenovo website is 850w.
This legion line is completely different from the other lenovo that was on sale for 1k.
Hopefully this one goes on sale for 200-300 off by november
