I am tempted to do this not because i want the premium features but simply because the button to try youtube premium or not is so annoying.

This is not a deal if you try it and like it then you might start paying for it after the trial ends.
Why create a need that you have to pay for when regular YouTube is free ?
I disagree. YouTube is so much better without the ads. I also like the ability to play/listen with the screen turned off. Downloadable videos to watch offline is great when I fly/travel as well. I think $11/month is reasonable.

I'm with others here in YT being really obnoxious with ads for premium. The more I get pestered, the more resolved I am to never get it, even as a free trial. I imagine the pestering will get even worse if I get it and cancel.

Sprint was fine, but my service has been terrible ever since Tmobile bought them.

All I see is a YouTube TV promotion after entering the phone number. I don't see the YouTube premium offer after logging in. Is it tired up to a specific plan?

Google should have a bundle. They have YouTube Premium, YouTube Music (which include YT Premium if you subscribe), and YouTube TV. A bundle deal would be great (or include YT Premium if you subscribe to YTTV).

YouTube has become a racket. They intentionally make it worse so you'll cave into their premium service.

Until YouTube Vanced stops working, I'm going to continue to use it. No ads, and the ability to skip intos, outros, and sponsored segments is ....muah ...*chef's kiss*. Hopefully someone builds a replacement before YouTube breaks it.
Do you only watch YT on your phone?

If you're bad at forgetting to cancel promotions, use https://privacy.com to limit it at the card level. I use it a lot now to prevent "zombie" charges.
For others: first check if your bank (Capital One, Citi, etc) offers a similar service before using a third-party. In the case of Citi, you can create virtual CCs with short expirations and 1$ spending limits. I keep two in Bitwarden: a $5 spending limit card for demos/trials, and a $150 daily limit card for "not a Fortune 500 company" online purchasing (in the event of compromise, the damage is more easily mitigated).

Privacy.com is legit, though.

Thanks! Was also able to apply the youtube premium even though I did a trial two months ago.
Wow, that's expensive. That's legit taking over cable pricing. I'll have to see what they are offering so this trail is perfect for that. Thanks op

For those worried about forgetting to cancel their sub: You can activate the free 3 month trial, then immediately cancel the subscription from the account memberships screen. Youtube will still give you the 3 months despite cancelling.

This works for most subscription services because you've "already paid for" the services and most companies would rather just have you run out your sub and not refund you a prorated amount.
