Comments from an earlier thread here: https://slickdeals.net/f/15966712-50-samsung-q80a-qn50q80aa-qled-4k-smart-tv-649-free-s-h?attrsrc=se...

Rtings review here: https://www.rtings.com/tv/reviews...-q80a-qled

In summary: Great deal on a pretty good but not great TV. But at the $500 price point I think this is pretty slick guys.

I think the 50" and 85" ones have VA panels, others have IPS panels.

So motion refresh at 120hz is not refresh rate at 120hz? I'm so confused with all these terms

Bought the 85" version. My tv Wifi might disconnect for whatever reason. Everything else is good

From the Rtings.com site "t also has many gaming features that Samsung is known for, like HDMI 2.1 bandwidth, variable refresh rate (VRR) support, and a 120Hz panel."

If you scroll down to the bottom of the rtings review to the "Differences Between Sizes And Variants" you will see a table with the following information;

50" VA QN50Q80AAFXZA QN50Q80A 60Hz
55" ADS QN55Q80AAFXZA QN55Q80A 120Hz
65" ADS QN65Q80AAFXZA QN65Q80A 120Hz
75" ADS QN75Q80AAFXZA QN75Q80A 120Hz
85" VA QN85Q80AAFXZA QN85Q80A 120Hz

On mobile- sorry for the weird formatting.

The 50" is 60Hz NOT 120Hz like every other size.
Rtings reviewed the 55".

*Edited to add Rting review size and fix format a bit.

Holy forking shirt shopping for electronics is a pain in the arse. I almost bought this last night before there were any comments but held off to see how people were going to trash it before spending the money. Glad I did since I specifically want 120 to hook a PC up to it.
Thanks for finding this.

Usually, you can just divide the "motion rate" by 2 and you'll get the refresh rate for the tv.

Can someone tell me if a TV is Alexa Enabled, does that mean it works w\the Echo devices or does it mean a Voice Remote.

Realistically if you're watching films, you don't want all the motion bells and whistles because it'll ruin the cinematic experience — the way the director intended audiences to view their work.

So if you're a film buff, this TV is still a great option. 500 bucks is a steal especially if you're a college student tryna decompress at home.
