so the difference between dot3 and dot 4 is the higher boiling point of dot4.
dot4 can be added to dot3, but not the other way around. dont add dot3 to dot4.
the easiest way to find out which dot your car takes is to look at the brake fluid cap.
Heads up for dummies like me.. brake fluid drops as the brake pads wear down. It goes back up when you get new pads. I wish someone had told me that lol
The cylinder moves in the caliper every time you step on brakes. Changing the brake pads won't put air in the system....unless you're doing it wrong.

You don't need to bleed for a simple pad replacment or shoe replacment? Never seen anybody or any professional bleed for a simple pad or even rotors replacment.
