I had one and returned it for that reason. The subpixel arrangement made text less sharp than on IPS panels and since I would be using it 100% for productivity with no gaming, it annoyed me too much so I went with the LG 40" 5K2K instead.

Nice price for the 42" at this point. Quite content with my 48" C1 i got for low $700 couple months ago...curious what this will go down to mid next year.
Is there any way to make this turn on and off from standby with the PC when using it as a monitor? I find it super annoying to have to fumble with the remote every time I go to the computer.

Wow. This TV just launched in May and it's already $999.99. You can't go wrong picking this up at this price now. Black Friday might just be the same deal or slightly better (maybe streaming credit with the same price in Costco). I had this TV but returned it because it was $1399 and the 48" C1 was $700 and couldn't pass that up. This C2 has a faster processor and you can switch to a ultrawide 31:9 mode

Do you mean from powered off to on and power off the tv with the computer? I wonder if you can use the built-in Alexa to do that.
I got the 48 inch A1 from Costco last year. It was $ 799 with a year of Showtime and 3 year protection plan. Great TV once you used to the controls. Totally different setup from my Samsung.
I prefer the LG controls over the Samsung.
This would be a better bedroom size. I guess limited demand for the smaller sizes, accounts for higher production costs per unit, hence a higher selling price.
