Note that all prices I mention are with the subscriber discount.
The bundle includes these items:
- $24 - The Handler
- $20 - extra Enduro battery
- $16 - head strap + quick clip
That only adds up to $60 so I certainly wouldn't pay more than an additional $50 for the bundle.If you're in the water, I absolutely recommend The Handler [gopro.com]. Out of the water, The Shorty [gopro.com] ($32) is pretty cool.
I definitely recommend an additional battery, but I'd get the dual battery charger plus two batts [gopro.com] for $48. It's way more convenient than being limited to charging within the GoPro. It should really be included in the bundle.
Note that subscription discount is limited to 10 items per year, so if you really needed a ton of accessories you could hit that limit and I presume the bundle wouldn't count against it, but I think 10 per year is plenty.

If u don't get overheating with the 8 in your use case any of the new versions should be fine. I have a couple 8s a 9 and an 11. No issues.

Over heating is only on the highest settings. Just lower it and use it.. I would imagine it would still be better quality than the 8. The high settings are only meant to be for a short duration.
