The owners would make a lot more if they didn't have to pay for all of those SPORTS FIGURES shilling the products.
They should be able to shut down the stores for not allowing the promotions I'm tired of seeing these promos and the stores won't honor them the subway franchise should have to require them to accept or be taken away there rights to have ownership of the franchise I don't want to hear how much business they lose to the promos they already use scraps for food wrapped up in wax paper ready to be served .
I went to subway for the first time I'm years a month ago. I paid 8.99 for a sub and was royally pissed off when I got done eating it. Not worth it. Been making my own at home that are much better.

Corporate can't do this or they'll lose franchisees.

The ability to opt out of some promotions is written into the contract to allow for franchise operators who are in expensive locales to avoid continually taking net losses due to the promos. For instance, franchise operators in San Francisco have to deal with much higher rents and labor costs than Tulsa, OK.

If Corporate could kick out franchisees for not honoring all the promos, they would basically not have any presence in any high-cost locales. You would not see any Subway stores in any downtown area of the big cities. They would only be out in the boonies where rents and wages are low.

I don't like it either, but I understand why it is the way it is and accept the compromise.

99% stores in surrounding Edison, NJ are NOT accepting. It's very bad. If any one knows the location where the offer is acceping near Edison, NJ area .pls share..
Can confirm.
I went to the local subway a couple days ago and there was a sign posted on the door saying no coupons at all. They also had a sign at checkout saying no bags, if you want to complain call this number. I just got a veggie sub and it came out to almost 8 dollars. No veggie patty or meat. Inflation or not, that's ridiculous. They skimped on all the toppings too. Won't be going back.

If you don't accept coupons, don't care about complaints, and can't offer good value, why do it? Franchise another business you actually care about

Do people really still eat here? 🤢

Just go to Publix and get a real sub.
Agree.. Subway to me is Salad on a Bun, you can use the sliced meat @ Subway as light filters..as thin as they slice the meat ..must be frozen to get it that thin. Always love the fresh bread @ Subway but have not been to one in years. Publix Ultimate Sub a meal by itself IMHO! maybe 2 meals for some?

As far as OP great deal if it works for you.

Does the Dangerwich qualify for this promo? I know it's only in the vault so maybe it's special.
It works on every sub.

Because it stopped working a month ago, which can be interpreted in some ways that the deal ended. Also, the new coupons that came out last week have a footlong at $6.99 now. So this is either a fluke in the system that is being exploited by people like me, or they are not advertising a deal that is still there.

Wow, seriously. Tips are not "wages." They are "gratuity." It's how you show courtesy to people who take care of you. Following your same argument, sure they could demand higher pay. Just as you could eat at home if you don't want to tip when you eat out. Of course you don't have to. but that's one of the ways people in a community can take care of each other. For the person on the other end receiving the tip, not only does it encourage them, but that little bit may

Here's the wonderful thing about tipping though. It's not a one way street. A lot of times these businesses/employees will take better care of you. Faster service, better care with you food, etc...
Agree.. there are a few places that we frequent and the wait staff trips over themselves for us to be in their section. We're not stars or anything we just tip properly if not extremely nice in most places. And yes the service goes beyond at those locations (hence frequency).. not because of us it's because of them and their attentiveness. They appreciate the gratuity and few cases we were told it helped pay a bill for them. Actually had one cry after receiving the tip. You never know when you can actually make a small difference in one's life! Amazingly just a tip/gratuity could do it for them. You just never know what their life circumstances are to be in a specific job or function. Let them know you appreciate what they are doing for YOU. Of course, it does go the other way for crappy service..still leave a tip just not a proper one to let them know you didn't forget the tip! Done that a few times and once with a note.

I don't "tip" my dentist, I just pay them. I don't expect if I slipped them a $20 they would clean my teeth 20% better. Your argument is incredibly weak.
Your response to JMBauer74 https://slickdeals.net/f/16060030-5-99-for-a-footlong-sub-at-subway-with-code-599footlong?p=157953169#post157953169.. really. Not from my life experiences. Also, not the same services are rendered. I only have co-pays and still don't like that for my doctor or dentist and you would think at what I pay for insurance it should be free. Not happening is it... nope, not in this millennium. Sad you sit in an office waiting on your scheduled time and they take you late and try and push you out the door just so the next patient can be late also.. a silly game we play and they get away with it. Miss your plane, cruise, and court date, and see what happens. Not fun to be you is it? IMHO JMBauer74 argument is not weak and is Merited. Sorry, you don't agree.

Ever heard of concise grammar? I can't even understand what point you're trying to make, but thanks for playing

My bad. I have that problem (concise grammar). Sorry you and others could not understand it. Especially when you compared a Dentist to a Sandwich maker.

That's the difference between how your mind works and mine. You're concerned about saving a buck, and I'm concern that that person making my sandwich, salad, or whatever is able to pay their rent and car payment, so that when I come in to get my sandwich, they're thinking about making my sandwich instead of whether or not they can pay their bills. Most dentists are pushing close to $200k a year. What do you think a fast food worker who makes sandwich takes in? In a 40 hour week making $12.50/hr they would make $500 before taxes. They might keep $425 of that, then they still have to pay their rent/mortgage, car payment, utilities, just like everybody else.

Same here. I've gotten to know a lot of the staff at the local restaurants, and it's a whole different experience when you go out. Not only are you eating at a restaurant, but you also get to interact with the various workers behind the scenes. You know the cooks, managers, wait staff, etc, and a lot of times they're happy to see you. If the service in just awful, it's likely I'll still tip, but probably won't go back.

I'm not saying I don't care about employee well-being... I do, very much actually. So much so that I want the corporations employing them to stop guilt-tripping me for extra cash and instead focus on paying their employees a liveable wage. I don't see why that makes me the bad guy?
