The AMD Ryzen 7 4700U or 5600H Mini PCs posted in this forum are actually much better deals than this one, those AMD processors are much faster than the Intel i5-1135G7. You pay more for this just for the Intel brand.

With the RAM and extra 15% off, this actually looks like a nice deal.
I haven't used AMD recently, but years ago, their drivers definitely left a lot to be desired. I've heard they're a lot better these days.
Intel have had more problems than AMD in recent years. For instance, look up Meltdown and Spectre. AMD used to have higher TDP/heat but that's changed in recent years. And I would avoid the 12th+ gen with their crappy E cores unless you can somehow figure out that they would benefit you... and good luck with that. And no, I'm not an AMD fanboi, if anything I have preferred Intel cpus in the last 20 years, but they don't command the high ground they once held. Go AMD!

My son plays Xbox with friends on PCs. He wants to get a PC, and its been years since I've built one. I want him to have a small form factor so he can unplug it and take it with him to friends' houses. I was looking at a setup like this or a Beelink SER4 with Ryzen 7 4700U/4800U in the $350-$450 range. I also want him to be able to upgrade it over time to make it his own.
Any suggestions?
A NUC would be a poor choice for your use case. By the time you buy storage, keyboard, and monitor for a NUC, you could've gotten a gaming laptop with much greater performance and portability for much cheaper. Plus this price isn't the best for these specs unless you have a very specific use case for it (as a workstation with limited space). You can find pretty decent gaming laptops pretty regularly for $500-$700 on here. Those prices are dropping now, as well, with the current economic situation and so much new hardware on the horizon.
What's the easiest way to add a 2.5gb port? I'm using a Celeron J4125 for my virtual appliances cause it has a 2.5gb port.
Something like this.

Another possible alternative is to use a PC with two 1 GbE NICs and configure them for Adaptive Load Balancing (ALB).
