It's not that much more expensive. The WD official site has it for $239 with heatsink (https://www.westerndigital.com/pr...DS200T1XHE) and you can always get 15% off by recycling any hard drive (I hammered and smashed a 2007 HDD before mailing it to the recycling program). Some cashback sites also have 10% back for shopping at wd.com from time to time.
Bout the same price I got it for on prime day. It's a crazy fast SSD. 99th % percentile on passmark.

You need to have a board that supports this for it to be worthwhile though.

The 7000/5000mb/s speeds are accurate
Really want a 2TB add-on for the PS5, but at this price-point... SOOO tempting!!!

I'm in the same boat! I like to leave a lot of games installed and worried if 1TB will get me through…some of these games are 100GB or larger. Price seems nice but will see what happens around Black Friday with 2TB drives

WD has it listed for $109.99:
https://www.westerndigital.com/pr...DS100T1XHE

Without the heatsink for $104.99, if you prefer:
https://www.westerndigital.com/pr...DS100T1X0E

Shipping is free.

Honey also offered me $13.99 cash back (in Honey Gold) on the page for either version, bringing the final price down even further, if the Honey Gold is awarded and if it is fully redeemed (may take a couple months).

The Slickdeals extension offered me "Up to 2.5% cash back", if you prefer that route, which is probably more reliable.

But usually 2TB price should be 170% of 1TB. Maybe I am wrong about that assumption.

Yeah those 2 points (100GB+ games and BF) are what I needed to hear -- don't *absolutely* need this *now* so will wait... but still what a deal...

Is this or the Hynix Gold P31 better for performance on Playstation 5? Recently bought the Hynix deal. The Hynix Gold is supposed to perform without undergoing thermal throttling. I was planning on doing the tricks recommended by Tomsguide, leaving the PS5's SSD cover off anyway. I'd buy a cheap heatsink for the Hynix Gold if it necessary for better performance, which seemed unlikely.

SK Hynix Gold P31 is Gen 3 and not compatible with the PS5. If you're referring to the SK Hynix P41 Gen 4 model, then between this WD with the heatsink and the P41 without a heatsink, I would go with whichever one is cheaper. There likely won't be any real world difference in performance.

Not really a deal. 1tb sn850 should be sub-$100 at this point in time
