FYI, there's some other BS fee attached that ends up making the total $120ish. That said we did this last go around, I don't regret it.

To be fair to Sirius.,.they don't control those fees. Those are licensing fees they have to pay for the music and content. They don't get a penny of that $

Also streaming is included as well for all Sirius packages. So you can use this with your phone. Or even better is using with Alexa or google speakers. "Hey google play (channel name or number) on Sirius XM' and it will play. Perfect for when you have company over and want background music. Or for me I use it for music during the day working.

Actually I have had XM since it came out. They always had to pay the royalty fees, it was included in the price. Breaking it out of the price of the service is still a price increase. Just like resort fees at hotels etc. I don't pay the add on "royalty fee". I always get a "one time only" discount. That being said if you get it for $5.00 a month or less it's a good deal.

So for anyone wanting Sirius for free...

There is a "hack" if you download the Sirius app for dealerships. Any time you are parked within close proximity of a dealership you can use the app to activate a car.

The idea behind it is for dealerships to add a month or three of demo Sirius radio for new buyers. Well they can't track when you sold your car, so if your car ends up at a dealership and you use this app then Sirius will activate a free trial. I work near a dealership so I just renew via the app when I'm bored and eating Mcdonalds in the parking lot. Whenever it expires I just roll into a dealership and activate it again.
Wait Wait...... Are you fking serious? I got like 3 (new) dealerships near me! So I just use the app, when I'm in their parking lot? I'm assuming used car dealerships not included or else I got like 3 literally next to me.

Can we do a community poll to see who cares? Still not back in the studio....
I'd be willing to bet Howard is the biggest draw on Sirius XM to date. While there are other good channels on their, pretty sure Howard is still the main draw on there.

Hrm.... so what do you think the point of limiting it to older vehicles is and not just deactivated radios?
Not everyone has more than one car with xm in it would be my guess … so if you only have 1 car and you activate an old radio they got you back and you are a subscriber. whatever the motive as long as it's profitable for them and you see value in it…

My 2018 Ram is eligible. I havent used it since my free year expired. Between YT Music & iHeart, I cant see a reason for getting this. And with the others, I wont lose signal whenever I'm stuck at a light under a bridge. lol
But you will lose signal where no cell service is available. It happened to me this past weekend.

Does this include streaming on a desktop computer at home? I used it more there than in my vehicle when I had it before, but this offer appears to only say in the car and with an app. I do not use an app, but go to the Sirius/XM website for it.
Yes. I use the app and the website and my wife has it in her car.

Ever since I switched back to Verizon, I dont think I've had that problem except during a trip in Colorado between Golden and Boulder. But no one has figured out how to get signals through mountains yet. 18GB of music on the SD card fixed that problem.

I got the 3 year/$99 offer on my 2008, and once I had put credit card info in was able to check a box to upgrade that to 5yr/$150.

Also strangely enough, my offer details say I get NFL play-by-play and Howard. Lots of fees and taxes, about $190 total. 5 years, less than $40 a year with no auto-renew, I'll take it. Especially with phone app streaming it's well worth it for me.

edit: activated, confirmed Howard is working.

Yup, you have to be about 100 feet within the dealership range or so but hey free Sirius. Works every time

Probably automatically renews at $400/3 years
Nope, this plan doesn't auto-renew. I had it on our 2008 Sonata twice, and it is still going, thought it was sold to another owner. There wasn't an option to transfer online for me.

I'd pay more not to have Howard. Throw in a Kardashian blocker for my computer and I will double the payment.
