FYI this is the basic plan; no Howard for those who care.

FYI, there's some other BS fee attached that ends up making the total $120ish. That said we did this last go around, I don't regret it.

Also, noob question - why this over Spotify or other on demand music streaming apps?
Good question. I like being exposed to new music randomly, which doesn't happen if I listen just to spotify. I also like the ability to change between music, comedy, sports and news channels. It's just more options. If you travel between cities and states, you still have some continuity of service for news and sporting events.

3 cars with XM, none were offered this deal. 2 cars are 2016 and the other is 2008.

So for anyone wanting Sirius for free...

There is a "hack" if you download the Sirius app for dealerships. Any time you are parked within close proximity of a dealership you can use the app to activate a car.

The idea behind it is for dealerships to add a month or three of demo Sirius radio for new buyers. Well they can't track when you sold your car, so if your car ends up at a dealership and you use this app then Sirius will activate a free trial. I work near a dealership so I just renew via the app when I'm bored and eating Mcdonalds in the parking lot. Whenever it expires I just roll into a dealership and activate it again.
Pretty sure this is theft.

Doesnt work for a 2021 Hyundai accent
I have a 2022 Accent. Have you been happy with your car so far? Any issues? Has your gas mileage been what you expected it to be?

Didn't work for my 2016 vehicle. Chat support wouldn't budge on it either. Only offered the 6 months for $30.

Correct. Audio quality is absolute trash and I am not an audiophile. Sounds like 96 kbps compression mp3s from 1999.
Can't you use your smart phone to listen using the Internet? What is the streaming sound quality like?

But you will lose signal where no cell service is available. It happened to me this past weekend.
I know for premium users, YT Music allows downloads for offline listening.

I got a letter for 5 years for $149. I called about it. And they just gave me the runaround acting like it didn't exist. So I said f it. I didn't really need SiriusXM that bad. I feel like I'd get the same BS if I called about this. Which this is a great deal still.

They're banking on you selling the vehicle within the next three years, that's why it only works on older vehicles. Collect all the money right now rather than in monthly payments. Time value of money worth more now than later.

Good deal however I'll pass. I want this but it's such a pain in ass to cancel. They give you the runaround and hang up the phone. I had such a bad experience with Sirius in the past I'll never use it again due to their customer service practices.

I listen to Tunein with commericals or pick 1000s of radio stations around the world. All free.

One thing I notice anything stream thru App has so much Fidelity vs when over the air stations.

I didn't get a letter for it, was just checking out online on the 3 year for $99 and there was an option at the bottom to add an additional 2 years for $50. Got 5 years for $149, plus $31.89 in Music Royalty Fee for total at check-out for $180.89

Every time I have cancelled or reupped, it has taken less than 5 minutes of my time. My wife has it in her car and I use the app to stream in in my car since that is included in her plan.

And a new car comes with 3 months free, not 3 years.

If you do not like the service, move along and let others discuss the deal
So I shouldn't have any issues just canceling then signing up for this deal?
