FYI, there's some other BS fee attached that ends up making the total $120ish. That said we did this last go around, I don't regret it.

The content is identical on the same satellite and internet channels. There are also extra internet channels not available on satellite because of bandwidth limitations.

I've been a paid subscriber to Pandora for a couple of years, but SiriusXM blows it out of the water. Better sound quality and selection. It also includes many Pandora radio stations to boot!
The content may be identical, but not the way they play it. I like my old radio as it is truly live and doesn't resume where you left off. The replay mode is a real issue. In a recent company vehicle, I did not see a live mode icon to choose. Also the app is a bit buggy and I lost connection many more times than satellite on my typical 3.5 hour drive that is all highway. Speaking of driving in a car, it is much more convenient to scroll through my favorites in a radio compared to the app. There are less than a handful of stations that are internet only that I listen to.

The cancelation and renewal process with Sirius is grueling. Like dealing with time share salesman.

3 years of not having to deal with renewal is worth it.
I've been able to do this all via Chat every year like clockwork and usually takes < 5 min. In fact, I just did it today (prior to seeing this deal, so I feel like I cheated myself). I just get on, say 'Cancel service'. They'll ask why, I say "too expensive". Chat agent gets on and goes through their spiel, and I usually pretend like I'm ready to cancel cancel "nah, just cancel me". They'll usually come back with a decent offer, and I'll pretend to begrudgingly accept. Today, I had a flyer in the mail for my other car that was $4.99/mo for 24 months. They said "sorry, it's only good for 12 months" on my current vehicle. I asked them to check again, and they magically found the 24-month deal for my car. I highly doubt they'll allow me to cancel the deal they just gave me for this other one, but I'm still happy to not have to deal with them for 24 months. Will be sure to check for this type of deal in 2024 though!

Turn off TuneStart in settings and change sound quality to maximum.

If you listen mainly to talk and sports sound quality is not that important. I listen to classical music so there is a huge difference between satellite and a smartphone using Android Auto.

Hah, same thing here. I questioned the 12 month $4.99 deal and they came back with a 24 month $4.99 family deal for my wife's car and my app. I really wasn't too interested in talking to the dude any more so I relented. I figured it was much better than the $21.99 deal that came with my wife's car and the $4.99 for my separate app account, so I was quite pleased with the outcome.

Damn - first time they won't budge... cancelling and will try later for the code. Even gave them the program code which is what they use to apply offers.

They did cancel very quick which was odd too.

If not, will try later for the 2yr one.

All good. If you don't know the stations it's a pain to know what ones are good. I had to spend time going through every station and adding thr music I liked to presets. It's fine but agreed there are some days where all the choices suck. They have DJs select the songs and some djs are bad
A friend of mine has XM and yes, on a long drive through several states, the signal not going out and music played was enjoyable. He knows all the ins and outs of using the service though. So maybe I needed to check some settings and sort out the better station on my car service.

Yes exactly. You gotta add presets for the channels you might listen to. It's awesome for long drives agreed. Also home use via google speaker or Alexa

To be fair to Sirius.,.they don't control those fees. Those are licensing fees they have to pay for the music and content. They don't get a penny of that $

Also streaming is included as well for all Sirius packages. So you can use this with your phone. Or even better is using with Alexa or google speakers. "Hey google play (channel name or number) on Sirius XM' and it will play. Perfect for when you have company over and want background music. Or for me I use it for music during the day working.
claim the price is 99 and actually charge me 99. That makes sense to me.

I was currently on the $5/month plan. Three days ago I did an online chat with XMRadio and was told I did not qualify for the $99/3 year deal and was offered a $120/2 year deal. I declined.

Today I messaged XMRadio online again and asked about the $99/3year deal. Was initially told no, the promo had ended. I asked when it ended and the online agent's response was "Please allow me to further check the account sir. The car is 2012 Honda Pilot correct?" After about 5 minutes she came back and said "great news sir! As per checking you are eligible on this package!"

All said and done, I got some credit for the remaining days I have this month and was charged $116.77 for the 3 years.

Chat agent this morning told me that he could not add the 3 year $99 deal to either of our vehicles (both currently on the $5/month plan), and that I should call in to discuss it with a "specialist" who might be able to help further.

Fwiw, the deal worked for me - with my 2022 Rav4. I have been turning down renewal offers since I got the car; my trial expired, I still did not renew. Then this came out - first I tried online, and it went to the $4.99/6 month deal.

So I called, the rep offered me the $4.99/12 month deal.

I told her no, she wasn't listening, I wanted the 3 years for $99. She looked for the promotion, found it, took my info, and I'm back with Sirius.

Why? My car has no cd or tape player - only XM, ota, or streaming. On my last road trip, I only had to go a hundred miles to lose cell service. Luckily - I still had SiriusXM at that time. Otherwise I would have had my choice of country, farm reports, or Jesus with the Italian stations.

Plus - it's the wife's car anyway and she doesn't like the "hassle" of streaming via ghee phone.

I spend more on Appletv+, and get less - so, I'm back with Sirius

I got my case escalated ands received a call back for the management to put through the promo on my account. Now it expires on October 1st of 2025 ! I was charged $99 plus $20 in royalty fees.

No more need to call retention every 6th month or year!

this won't be as good if there's ever free echo offers though

Update...I was able to call in and get the $99 deal for both vehicles. Took about 15 minutes including hold times.

Was able to get the 3 year $99 promo through chat even though my radio was "not eligible" (a 2011 Highlander). Tried pushing for the 5 year $150 deal instead that the folks here who qualified on the actual page were able to get but they wouldn't budge, so just took the 3 year one.
