Why would someone pick this over iPad 10.2? They are in similar pric range, not a big fan of apple but their tablets live pretty longer compared to samsung's.

If you're actually asking, iOS is inferior to Android. If you want to turn a blind eye to that, then sure, get the iPad for reasons you stated.
I like picking up my phone and tablet and doing things how I want to do it. See things how I want to see it.
If you like Apple's forced default UI mess or crappy widgets, then you do you. I know a lot of Apple users who likes it, and I don't think they should switch.

One difference is that you can use Android tablet almost like a PC. File system, apps, customization, etc. It's easier to modify a document and export it however you want.
You can sideload apps, videos, and music directly from the internet.

To add... Screen mirroring / extention is also super cool

The higher end Android tablets can be great. It's these cheaper ones that are mostly terrible. You get maybe a year or two out of them before they get painfully slow. The same can't be said about iPads. I'm still using an Air 2 I bought in 2016.

I love iOS. But this statement is true. Using my iPhone for the past one year, it feels like I am a guest. In Android you are the boss. The Do whatever you want lol. But there are certain things you should know about both tablets, iPad 9th Gen and this Fe. The latter can be purchased way under $200 with Samsung coupons and trade deals. The iPads can be purchased under $300. You can wait through October to see what kind of tablets Apple is going to announce. I have owned both. Tab Fe feels like a modern tablet with included S Pen and charger/cable. It's Android, you either hate or going to love it. But if you want better tablet apps and performance, go with iPad. But Samsung tablets are fun to use and it offers endless features and customizations like Dex and some other stuff.

The painfully slow thing is usually, imo, due to the manufacturer purposefully throttling your CPU, forcing you to buy a new device. They claim it's to, preserve the safety of your battery or some BS. (I'm looking at you Apple)
I have this tablet for over a year I think. No throttling yet.
To be fair, I also use Amazon's $50 tablets to play videos for my babies. Anything better than that slug is magic in my eyes.

Well you said it yourself, it's only been a year. Come back after two or three years.
You point fingers at Apple, but I'm still using my iPad after six years…

You appear very defensive. have you checked if your iPad is being throttled? Maybe you never needed all that power so you can't tell the difference, now that it is throttled

$40 cracked screen ipad air trade-in + $154 S7 FE (64 GB) = $194 + TAX
They also gave free $100 towards accessories which I used towards a buds2.
