to me 1200 for a plastic small shed is kind of steep.
It is but the cost of material has gone way up. If you try and build something like this with a similar style your looking at least $2,500 plus not to mention it wont be as easy as this to setup.

I just built a 10x16 wood shed for $2,653. 2x6 and 3/4 ply floors, 2x4 walls, T1-11 siding. I think you could easily build a 9x7 for much less than $2,500.

I don't disagree but a full DIY wood option won't be anywhere as simple to setup or appealing to look at at this price point.
There's a 10'x12' wood option for $2,400 which would be easier than hauling the wood home and for those without all the tools.

Yeah but your grandkids won't be able to watch it sit in a landfill for 300 years.

Currently in final steps of building a 10x8 in similar style (actually copying one of Gorilla's overpriced designs). 2x6 base over gravel pad foundation, 2x6 rafters, double top plates all around, 5/8" ply roof with asphalt shingles, 16" stud spacing on walls and 24" on the rafters, 3/4" floor, SmartSide trim and siding, an insanely unnecessary number of reinforcement ties/brackets/straps/angles/blocking. For a storage shed that'll have no electricity nor plumbing, it's insanely overbuilt. My all-in is about to barely crest $2k here in SoCal, and that's with a TON of waste because of my own mistakes along the way. Something like the shed in this link should absolutely NOT cost you $2500 to build yourself.

Especially good deal as $1199, good amount of space and good enough quality. Goes together quickly. Better than the Rubbermaid or Suncast junk.
