I've been thinking of this for a few days now. Lots of comments about washing with soap and having the soap flavor remaining. I wonder if this could be used in an air fryer too? IP has lots of competition in this category however. There are 2-packs with slings by other manufacturers.

Heat resistance: "Thick-gauge, food-safe silicone is durable and heat-resistant to 450°F." posted on Williams-Sonoma"

Those folks must have been sent a fake product. Mine gets heavy use, never a problem, never any odors. The quality impressed me which is why I mentioned it. Bought mine from Walmart more than a year ago and it is obviously authentic.

The alternate products are not thick silcone and cost more than this right now.

I personally do not use silicone above 350F and do not expose it to direct radiant heat,

Low quality silicone tears when you force cubes out. The alternate products are clearly lower quality.
Or maybe they also let it sit too long in a strong dish detergent too. I don't know if it would be worth such efforts to create a fake version. It's probably more to do with use, I would think. I recently saw a youtube video about someone using something like this in the air fryer for the egg bites.

Can I ask you what you've been using yours for? Do you use it for the pressure cooker rather than an air fryer? The lid could be handy as a topper for the cheesecake containers when cooking.

Won't speculate about "the others" or how they misuse the product but they are well represented on SD.
