ADP used to own P@W so check there if your pay comes through them.
- Win Pro (can be joined to a business domain)
- DDR5 isn't cheap, especially with 16GB
- 512GB is the minimum but will satisfy pretty much any adult who doesn't have time for toy software (although it is nice to have movies for the plane)
- Fingerprint reader (but no touch screen)
- On-site warranty
Tell your IT departments about this deal - frequent flyers will be very happy with it. I paid $799 for my HP Envy i7-1165G7 which is close to this spec (same RAM but 1TB nVME, 2.9lbs) and I'm quite happy with it.But Intel's Thunderbolt 4 makes docking wonderful ) I just plug in a tiny cable to get power and connect to dual 4k monitors with external keyboard and mouse. If you prefer to have a desktop at home, then an Intel-based system might be worth waiting for (Black Friday).
If this is not nVME, then disregard everything above and avoid this like the plague (nVME storage is both cheaper and higher in performance than SATA but manufacturers still leverage it in order to charge more for the option).

But it has come a long way, as you have pointed out. It doesn't have the same feel of aluminum but is worth the extra weight savings for travelers or college students.
300 nits is good enough for a non-glare screen. Most consumer screens are brighter because they don't realize how much better a non-glare business screen is. The non-glare finish reduces the brightness.
It looks like this is nVME but I have yet to confirm. I'm not sure why they wouldn't specify this in the basic description, since it is an obvious requirement for anyone buying a new PC for more than $300.

I like 14 better if doing a lot of work on laptop screen, still pretty small light for carrying.
Thinkpad X models are excellent build quality. Processor and RAM will be plenty for your uses. I would expect 5+ years of good use.
I bought an x13 with the same display off ebay and returned it. It felt like a 14" that I'm used to using.
Tempting deal. Another 6% ($50) at rackootin
Does anyone know the battery size?
