It is NOT a nonprofit. It is wholly owned by a company that markets snake oil for dogs: CBD products. Its funding is not known nor disclosed.

"Is Ol Roy a good dog food? We believe this is not the best choice for a dog. If you are on a very strict budget, you can go for it. But mind that these recipes include corn, wheat, soy, by-products, carrageenan, artificial colors and flavors, and other ingredients you'd want to avoid in your pet's diet. Ol Roy dog food rating on Walmart might play a dirty trick on you, and you will get a product your pet will never touch."
I realize this dog food is not the most healthy on the market but it is generally healthy. I work with a pet rescue organization and we see all sorts of dogs that are starving, fed only mashed potatoes, etc because of financial hardship of owners. If dogs are cared for and loved, this food is far better than many other options. Feeding a dog regular meals with this food is a good thing. If you can afford a more healthy option, then that is preferred, but not necessary.

Dog Food Advisor is not a credible site and is not overseen by a vet. It is run by someone without any professional background in animal health or nutrition. It has many inconsistent and unscientific approaches to many of the positive or negative scores.

It's like going to a chiropractor and asking for medical advice
Store bought, healthy dog and cat food no longer exists.
The last of it disappeared when they discontinued the older version of Crave wet food about 1 year ago which basically contained meat (muscle and organ), vitamins and minerals. There are no heathy grains (save white rice, which is almost never found in any processed foods for any creature), and very few healthy "plants" found in pet foods.
