One easy way to verify the validity of the site, is to check their physical location in the "About Us" at the bottom of the page. Then Google search it and bingo. An old rickety hose in the middle of a neighborhood. SCAM with a capital S. Also the copyright at the bottom of the page shows 2021. I think Schwinn is older than that.

Plus, the phone number is a Tennessee area code, with the address in Texas. The email is just through gmail. And whoever threw together the website didn't even bother replacing the "Default Welcome msg!" in their template.

While Schwinn started making bikes in the 19th century, they've had several bouts of bankruptcy and the current iteration under the ownership of Pacific Cycle (of department store bike fame) is only a couple decades old.

We have this bike as well as some nicer bikes - K2 Crush, Diamondback and Raleigh. This bike is large and heavy. Too big for my wife who is 5'4. The frame and brakes are nice, but the bearings and crank are cheap. The bike just doesn't roll efficiently. If I had $200 I would look on FBM or CL for a used brand name and tune it up. The ratings on this bike are abysmal. Many are people not able to set it up or tune it. But when you pay this for a bike at Walmart, 95% aren't going to spend $50 to $100 to adjust a bike. Our bike looks brand new with a softer seat, and we will be lucky to get $100 for it.
I bought this exact bike earlier this year. It weighs about 40lbs (very heavy) and could cause serious injury if used for more than light use (on paved roads). Also the brakes are super loud and obnoxious. I highly recommend buying a used bike for a similar price that is from a good brand.
I bought this bike pre-assembled from Walmart in August for the same price ... so not sure why it's a deal now but sure.
Definitely had to put some work into it, but its working decently enough for now and I enjoy riding it.
- Front wheel would wobble when rotating - it had a slight bend or something. Called customer service and they shipped me a new wheel for free without much hassle - had to transfer the tube, tire, disc brake, and reflector to new wheel.
- Bought a different seat from Amazon because the one it came with was not comfortable
- Walmart bike assembler did a quick and dirty job, had to fine tune everything (tighten all screws, adjust shifter tensions and max range, adjust handlebar, adjust brake tensions, etc.)
- The brake pads on the rear V brakes were basically melting away from light braking. Bought cheap brake pads on Amazon to replace them

It costs $20 more. Not sure how they compare in size and weight.
(Also noticed that this one does not have front disc brake)
