Weight is not bad for this size. Most 15-inch models are heavier.
16:10 is a plus, 300 nits with 100% sRGB.
PD ad DP out.
16GB RAM.
1080p. webcam.
I see nothing this really needs out of the box. Could it benefit from a RAM upgrade? Maybe to help future proof, but not really necessary.
Good post! I would consider this a solid mid-level deal, but I am not the maestro here. TU.
The biggest thing I hate with this machine is it has a digitizer but isn't a 2-in-1 so why have glass over the screen. It's brighter but has a bad glare if you're using it anywhere where there's light. They make screens with the touch function built in, which makes it easier to repair. So, if the screen gets broken on this model, it will be very expensive to fix. The weight isn't bad but I still think the 5515 (model before this one) was a lot better machine and so far I haven't been a big fan of the 16" models.

Now. that said, this laptop does seem cheaply made - the outer body although appears to be aluminum is not as sturdy as the 7620. One good thing about this is the trackpad seems better - fingers crossed I don't have the trackpad issue! Additionally, it has a smaller battery and also no bottom firing speakers like the 7620. All in all, it's probably not a bad deal for what you get but so far, Dell support seems iffy at best and the fact that they want me to wait more than a month for a repair is simply unacceptable!

How about the heat and fan noise/coil whine? Is yours doing that?
No. I don't think it's worth the headache. It's gonna have to go back.

I can tell you from past Dell deals. Bought a new Insprion, Did not use it much for quite awhile, started using it more and started having a problem with the keyboard. Reported to Dell 9 days after warranty expired and they would do NOTHING. Did notice the problem at 6 months but got distracted till later on. Anyway was a hardware issue with the keyboard. There were thousands of complaints on theses Insprions and Dell did Nothing! Thousands of people deveolped keyboard issue, there were multiple threads on it. Had to replace the keyboard. Many thought Dell should have had a recall, but they did nothing and took no responsiblity for defective hardware. Swore I would never buy another Dell product.
