    I recently got rid of my LS50s (I know these are metas but I've tried both the difference isn't drastic) after ownership of almost 3 years running them using a mcintosh power amp. Although these speakers in general hit above their price bracket, they definitely have unique sound. To me honestly they were flat but fatiguing to listen to. After 30-40min of listening I'd feel my ears would hurt. They have a bit of "shouty" midrange that can but less desirable for some people. Not to mention its very important that they be run using clean class A or Class AB amps, Class-D amps from receivers and low power amps will make this sound thin and shrill.

    All in all, if you are open to experiment, go for them, but if you have doubts, its okay to pass on these till you can audition in person/have the right amplification.

    Not sure why OP is getting trolled...I'm not in the market for these but maybe somebody is; this is in fact a DEAL according to amazon price history unlike a lot of the garbage that's posted here.

    Confused as well. This is a good price for these, I was in the market for high end speakers last month and never saw them this low.

    Good price if you have your heart set on them. There are better speakers in this price range though. KEF are more lifestyle than audiophile.

    You may want to borrow a few sets of speakers from best buy for a home audition.

    It does make sense to upgrade once you listen the difference, however to bring them alive they are power hungry speakers and your Denon could not have enough amplification to drive it. Hopefully your Denon has Pre-outs to connect an external amp….don't forget to get a good sub. Now you are not spending $1,300, you could be spending over $5k otherwise they won't sound any different of your Orb audio speakers.

    Where is the tweeter, are they really $1300 good? At this price point you should get the higher timbre included.

    It's a coaxial driver, tweeter in the center, mid-bass around it, and a crossover in the enclosure.

    The previous version could be bi-amped with the factory separate crossover boards inside if you unbound the wires and added a second set of posts. I haven't seen any photos of the inside of the meta version.

    Ha ha, maybe I save you 1700Smilie money not spent are money saved! The prices must go down, don't see how they will hold the 1700 price once the new version is out. In any case, they drop to 1700 every 3 month or so, last "sale" was in June/July, so there will be plenty of opportunities.
