All in all, if you are open to experiment, go for them, but if you have doubts, its okay to pass on these till you can audition in person/have the right amplification.

Would it make sense to upgrade the front side speakers to these KEF speakers? Would that cause any issues with balance or even with amplifier settings?
Equally good dac and amplifier is just as important. Play lossless files instead of mp3. Setup will only be as good as the worst part of the chain
I almost went ahead and bought these speakers, but with a recession becoming more and more likely, I suspect we may have the best Black Friday in years. Proceed with caution.
Thank you. What if my speakers are rated 6 OHMS but my receiver is set at 8 OHMS.

Speaker impedance is often misunderstood. It is not a static number. It varies based on the frequency.
I returned mine because I paid $1k lol. Recession is around the corner.
R3 hit 1300 sale a few times during covid and I think this is a sweet spot for these speakers. Fingers crossed once the new version is out they will fall to this level.
It will be interesting to see how much "better" the new version will be. I really liked the r3 during the audition.
There is no passive crossover design that can prevent a low frequency driver resonance from having an impact on simultaneous higher frequency reproduction from a multi-driver speaker. You can add filters like a Zobel, but it won't be as perfect as bi-amping or tri-amping. If your towers have a built in sub, they are a major compromise to hi-fi at best. The low frequency driver always needs its own amp for full range hi-fi in most listening environments.
All that said, a tri-amped pair of 3 or 4-way towers could be very, very nice if designed properly. I don't own any KEFs, but I certainly respect their engineering.
