I have the Android version. Everything is pretty good except passthrough charging doesn't work for 4 of phones, and moto g play works only if I unplug the phone from the device with the cable plugged in and plugged back in.
Don't get this. Really stresses your usb c or equivalent iphone port. Mine now loses connection randomly during gameplay.
You want a telescoping controller with a "backbone"
I am waiting for a deal on the gamesir

I use this to play genshin impact in my iPhone XS Max, got it for this price used on eBay. It will have an elastic band to stretch in the back to hug your phone, it's a little wonky but you get used to it. You will have to remove your phone from your case to use it so the attachment can connect to your phone. Has an additional charge port on the bottom right if you wanna charge while you play, although it ran a little warm for me. Obviously won't be as nice as a steam deck or gaming rig, but for on the go short gaming sessions it works for me. Don't forget this is for apple, if you have an android you need to buy the other version

For Genshin Impact, I think this is nicer than steam deck due to the oled screen. Anything else not as much.
I have had both the V1 (this) and the V2. The V1 is vastly superior in my opinion. The buttons and sticks have a big, console like substantial feel to them. On V2, everything feels super cheap and like a child's toy. As well this one folds up much smaller so it's much more portable. And the connector is flexible rather than rigid, so the rigid connector between the joystick halves on the V2 mean you can damage your port pulling the phone out very easily.
It's telling that this design was so far superior that companies like Gamevice have swooped in with the Flex to essentially completely copy the V1's design to fill the void it left when Razer decided to go copy the Backbone, rather than stick with the unique formula they came up with that many prefer.

I guarantee you are gonna overestimate how often you will use this. Lol. I have used mine less than 10 times, when I got it from Walmart clearance.
Just get a Deck, because it does way more and is way more suitable location to store games and save files for emulators etc. Gaming on phone with a controller is just kind of janky. The whole point of phone gaming is you can do it when you shit, or at the most unexpected situation where you have time to kill like waiting for your food to arrive at a restaurant etc.. You are not gonna carry this with you to the shitter I promise unless you make an active commitment to carry it.
This DOES fit an iPhone 13 Pro. It even fits an iPhone 13 Pro Max. The only downside to this controller has to do with the mushy buttons. The V2 is supposed to correct this issue. However, this controller still works very well. I ended up putting some grip tape on the top of the joysticks, the sides, and on the shoulder/trigger buttons. Razer sells some grip tape specifically sized for this. Not necessary, but helps with the comfort factor.

They also can be had for $30 on ebay if you don't mind a used/like new one.
If this was the V2 version I'd be all over since it sounds like the buttons have been improved greatly.
