These are simply awesome specs for the price. However, I would still argue that there are serious red flags raised when the manufacturer bothers to sell the item direct but chooses to warranty the item through a third party rather than offering a proper manufacturer warranty. Obviously one factor driving that choice is ebay promotional considerations: the warranty likely cost them little to nothing to package with the product but then gets them promotional marketing from ebay which they might not otherwise receive. However, no one should be fooled into equating an third-party warranty with the service/support associated with warranties from reputable manufacturers/retailers.

Acer hasn't exactly been known for high build quality in their retail PCs, but it is just as likely that these are simply backlogged machines coming out of a delayed supply chain. At the same time, manufacturing defects, again potentially driven by supply chain challenges, can't be ruled out. If you're a capable PC enthusiast who could work quickly to validate your unit is ready for a long service life (and not plagued by some unknown/uncorrected defect) this price represents incredible bang for your buck.

For those comparing with the thunderbolt-equipped model: that extra $60 buys you some future-proofing you might never utilize. However, for some users the available thunderbolt port effectively makes the laptop a direct desktop replacement as thunderbolt facilitates advanced external peripheral support like eGPU - basically a graphics card in a box.
