2K lasts a lot longer but it's VERY toxic to spray even if you're wearing a fancier respirator because it's so toxic that it can actually absorb through skin. Technically you're supposed to wear an air fed whole body suit when spraying 2K.

Honestly I'd rather just respray with the cheaper clearcoat once in a while, it's mildly inconvenient but at least there's no risk that you poison yourself.

there's plenty of inexpensive Tyvek suits you can purchase along with a 3M P100 Respirator Cartridge/Filter 60923. Sure it adds up, but I use the respirator when working on other toxic stuff around the house, including heavy duty degreaser to clean the kid's tubs and when spraying chemicals in the yard. But yeah, people get sick really bad from 2k stuff.

So what happens in a year or 9 months down the road, do you have to sand it down again, what grit? I'm afraid doing this year after year, or 9-10 months at a time so it doesn't get a chance to get yellow, will thin out your headlight?
I was thinking of using a 2K clear coat (about $25) but forgot about the adhesion promoter you mentioned. I've used them on non-clear plastic but not sure how hazy it will make the headlight because it does leave a matte/hazy appearance.

Did my headlights this past weekend with Cerekote headlight restoration. About $15. 3 step process. Looks great so far but I'm sure in 12-18mo I'll need to redo.

Don't buy, Tried once and sucks, didn't last long at all, made it worst than before. Use clear coat spray paint is much better and last longer. get some 2k clear coat if you want it to look amazing.

Yeah man. Headlights yellow when the UV coating wears and turns color. It deteriorates. Younsand it off till you have an opaque, but clean headlight. Then you use Colgate toothpaste on a buffer to buff out the scratches left by wet sanding. It's easy.
I use 1000 grit.

The initial uv coating that turns cloudy will be removed and it will turn cloudy much faster unless you use something to seal the polished surface.
