I think I have owned every model of the HK Onyx Studio line up through the 7. This is probably one of the better designed ones. My favorite was the plasticized mesh front of the 2 or 3 that could be removed and scrubbed with a hard bristle brush to be cleaned easier without damaging any delicate fabrics on most of the others. This model upgraded the feet to no longer use those rubber insert feet that are easy to lose over time but impossible to buy a replacement. The rounded foot design for this model was much better.

Sound-wise, unless you are comparing them side by side, back and forth with music, you should not notice a difference between this and the other models and there's no reason to 'upgrade' from an older model unless you just want to get a great price on another great speaker.

One thing is very consistent though; these are a premium speaker and put out great sound! One of those products that is every bit worth this $100 price tag

While this is a mild deal, this speaker has never been more than $180 on amazon for more than a day in the last 1747 days. It generally sits around $150, not $450 🙄

Great speaker but few things. If you want to maximize the bass..you have to plug it in. The bass speakers are only half power on battery . Also it's Bluetooth 4.2 so will have lag if you stream video.

This is absolutely unbeatable connected to a $20 google home via Bluetooth . And the Bt connection stays active so it's basically a dedicated smart speaker.

I would connect the aux cable to it and it would be perfect. You can use Bluetooth but it will lag. Another plus is this speaker doesn't go to sleep when not in use. Which is awesome for being connected to smart speakers

Yes, you can pair two together in stereo or "more than 100" devices together using the same proprietary device connection process (HK Connect+)
Yes, they wirelessly pair together and stream via a Bluetooth connection after using the pairing buttons on the top.
As far as EQ is concerned, I'm not aware of any apps specific to any HK Onyx Studio speaker. A free EQ app or program (depending on what you plan on connecting) should be able to give you full control over this type of sound customization

Oh really? That's why I was thinking of getting them. I currently have a pair of Echo Studio's paired but they don't do stereo bluetooth sadly.

Onyx 7 is worth it if you think you will use it to watch videos . It has bt 5.0 which has almost no lag for video

Edit: SORRY everyone it has bt 4.2. It will lag for video unless you use an aux connector (or alternative is if you get a Bluetooth 5.0 adapter and plug into aux).

The reviews for it on T-Mobile says it lags badly but it could be only when in stereo mode?

"all though you have the ability to sync another Onyx 7 to it, the sound delay is noticeable enough where you cant watch any video content without noticing an extreme delay."

I meant 30 more than the 140 he posted for the newer model. Was unsure if there were onyx 4's with upgraded bluetooth or if he was referring to the onyx 7.

Unfortunately it seems a lot of people prefer the 4 to the 7. The lag is kind of a big deal though
