I like using the built-in vpn since it can help from time to time. This would be an instant buy for me but now I'm on the fence. I hear windows built in security is pretty good
the Norton Popups are rediculous and super annoying. I've gone in and turned everything I could find regarding ads and popups off and still get some almost every day.

With that said good antivirus/malware comes down to the user. Stay on the path and don't mess around in shady internet back alleys.
Was more pissed at my brother who was at home and college aged and didn't give two rips to tell her it's nothing to worry about and to close the window.
She spent $100 or some stupid amount on the phone. I couldn't believe it. She always asked me to help her with frivolous stuff on her computer and she said she didn't want to bother me this time, like I don't get back to her texts within a minute or two during the work day. My brother had been using an iPad mostly and basically gave her a couple minutes with his headphones to the side for assistance and proceeded to let her pay some Indian dude over the phone.
This is what Norton is for; to give us folks with parents that are mostly homebodies the peace of mind that their computer has protection from viruses and such.
Don't think I'll ever forgive my brother for that; like, seriously π³π€―π‘π.

Seriously, this product is garbage. Will never protect against a zero day exploit, which is really what everybody should fear. Microsoft already has you covered on the known attacks, and this Norton will be another process running in the background eating up your precious RAM, not to mention the added bloatware. Don't be the sucker!

The catch with Windows Defender and the other built-in security tools and features in Windows is that you have to stick to Microsoft products. This means using Edge instead of Chrome or Firefox as your default browser, Microsoft Office 365 instead of Google Workspace or LibreOffice and Microsoft Teams instead of Slack or Zoom.
It does not matter, I installed it (remotely) on both my sisters, one lives in Colorado and the other lives in Oregon as well as my Mom's (SC) using the same key.
