I was debating the same. Got the Instinct E-sport for the following reasons:
- 7 days longer battery life (14 days vs 7 days)
- Can upload maps
- Has branded damage-resistant glass
- 3h longer battery life w/ GPS (16h vs 13h)
- Has a barometer
- Has trackback mode

The instinct solar has the gen 4 sensor with spo2. It was $200 on prime day. I guess if that deal comes again it would be a great deal with the solar literally you can go without charging for weeks/months depending on usage
i upgraded from a 35 because i wanted the custom workouts (eg tempo and recovery runs based on hr zone, intervals based on pace and distance with recovery based on hr). the 45 also got rid of some of the 35's gps anomalies (eg gps-sync can take minutes, gps irregularities at beginning of run). my only complaint is the 45 regularly loses track of my sleep (ie "unmeasurable") for 15-45 minutes in the middle of the night, resulting in it saying i fell short of my sleep goal. (the 35 and other garmin models might also do this, but the 45 is the only one i've used for sleep tracking.)
btw, buydig.com is $98.99 (says $129.99 in search results, $109.99 on the product page, and $98.99 in cart when using "RBTEN" $11 coupon listed on product page), but only has 1-year garmin warranty, not 2-year allstate warranty.
