My hesitation before I bought these was the ability to hide them...specifically turning corners around trim, walls, etc. I thought they'd be more stiff than a round cable, but they're actually better for this purpose. Instead of softly bending in a somewhat large radius like you would with a round cable (picture a square with a circle drawn outside of it...the square being your wall and the circle the cable. The cable will stick out from the wall unless you tightly bend it which isn't good for the cable), you actually fold the cable over itself and turn it 90 degrees. Best way I can describe it is take a piece of paper and pretend the paper is the flat cable. Take the top right corner and fold it down toward the bottom left corner. Now the cable is pointing 90 degrees left (hopefully that makes sense). If you notice, it also turned left at a near-perfect 90 with zero radius/curve at the bottom left, so no cables sticking way out around corners. Alternatively, you can take the same flat piece of paper, grab the top edge and lift it straight up. You've now made a 90 a different way, although more round. But they're so thin it makes them easy to hide no matter what your needs are. Hopefully this helps someone.
Edit: Random, but felt it was worth mentioning: after owning all of their cable types, I want to make a special shoutout to their "snagless" type connectors on their ethernet cables for being the worst connectors I've ever used (different from the ones posted here). The protective boot that makes it "snagless" is so stiff that it makes it almost impossible to remove the cable from whatever it's plugged into. I'm a 32 year old mechanic...I'm not short on strength in my hands and fingers. That said, I often had to grab a pair of needlenose pliers to remove the snagless cables from devices, and even then sometimes they refused to let go. After fighting over and over with them, I have now made it standard practice to cut the boot completely off of the "snagless" cables before installing. Absolutely horrid is the understatement of the year.
"Zeroboot" or "Flexboot" is the way to go with Monoprice ethernet cables (this deal is the "Flexboot" type).
